Nice soft foam panels. Maybe a little too soft for proper sound absorption but they do work a little bit. And they look great.

I used this as padding in a "generic" hard case in which to place delicate instruments. A little cutting to fit and some spray glue, and I was spared the significantly higher cost of finding a specifically designed factory case.

This is a really dense sound panel. This 24" x 48" x 2" sound dampening foam panel is really nice. It didn't have any weird smell and It expanded pretty good right out of the package. Still, I decided to throw it in the washer on medium low water temp setting (basically luke warm) and added a little liquid soap. I washed it on a gentle wash setting, about 20 minutes. After that, I threw it in the dryer on the low heat setting and dried it for 27 minutes. It puffed up nicely, but I think it still had about 15% moisture in it. So I hung it on the wall and pointed a small (but powerful) fan at it for a few hours and that seemed to dry it the rest of the way. I mounted it in a small (closet like) room with some push pins and tested the sound dampening quality and it performed amazingly well, reducing reflection by about 30%. If I had six more panels and covered all the walls, I'm sure It would completely block any and all sound reflections. I think the reason why this panel performed so well, was because the 'egg crate' style of hills and valleys were smaller and closer together than most of the other standard sized egg crate sound panels and that added more surface area and caught more of the sound - Brilliant!! But a consistent problem with these types of foam panels, is they are never cut correctly. Meaning, the edges of one panel never match with the edges of another exact same panel. I know it's cosmetic and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But it would look nicer if the manufacturers cut them in a uniform fashion. Making the panels look seamless when they are lined up. How hard could that be?? Also, this panel did not come with any type of adhesive spray or double sided tape, so it's left up to the consumer to figure that out. There are plenty of those choices that you can buy online. But I think it should always be included with the panels.For those reasons I give it 4 Stars.

We use it to cover 2 X 2 ceiling egg crate return vents in a plenum ceiling to keep sound from traveling from room to room yet letting air flow through.

These are more expensive than buying 12 individual tiles and they only cover the space of 8 individual tiles…

Purchased these for my sound studio and was disappointed that all the foam was different sizes in length and also not cut very straight. Sadly, I cannot recommend them due to the quality control issues. UPDATE: seller offered a replacement set to resolve the issue for me.

Contrary to common perceptions, this product is meant to reduce "echo" & "standing waves" in a room.It's NOT sound "proofing" but sound "treatment".It will reduce some noise from passing from the room, or into the room.This paticular product is of decent quality, & does its intended task quite well.If this seller had the same product in 3" or 4" thickness I'd buy more.
