What can i say, its a great leather hat the looks and feels good. Sadly though as per instructions i treated it with a leather water proofer and as i was doing so i noticed that on the underside of the rim the leather has like a razor cut going in at an angle but does not go all the way through, just causes the leather to be slightly thinner. So as i had all ready treated most of the hat i am stuck with it. however this said i cant help but still love the hat and wear it everytime i go out. keeps the sun off, keeps the rain off and with the strap it doesnt blow off. Just disapointed about the damage. If these are seconds as someone stated then it needs to be made clear in the description otherwise they need to be more thoroughly checked before being shipped to customers. But like i say i still love the hat and i feel i have been as fair and honest as i can be. Oh nearly forgot to say, its nice and comfortable too. I hope this helps you guys in choosing your new hat!

Perfect fit extremely comfortable quality leather and materials.Not symmetrically made, interior piece of leather sewn in to the front offset to one side instead of even each side.Not at all water repellent even when sprayed with rain guard as recommended.If wearing in any rain, I would definitely coat with dubbin first as otherwise will go floppy and lose shape.I would recommend this hat as despite the above is really good value for money and good quality materials and really comfortable and lightweight.Just don't get it wet, like any leather hat!8/10.

Comfortable leather hat with neck string included so it stays on when it’s windy. Leather is fairly thin so not a warm hat, but will be appreciated when warm weather’s back. The bowl of the hat isn’t deep so top of your head might contact underside of the top layer of leather. I treated the leather before wearing it in rain, have worn in in all weathers and keeps my head dry. Leather still soaks one some water but as not too thick it dries well. My usual hats are 57-58cm, I ordered the Medium and it fits well - I’m almost bald, if you have a thick head of hair you might want to go up a size.

This is a nice looking hat - a bit shinier than I was expecting, but generally fine. Maybe it'll tone down over time.It does seem to be very well made.Not worn it outdoors yet but I've sprayed it with some water proofer that I had for leather shoes.Used the size guide and, being between two sizes, went for the larger one and it fits fine.It comes complete with a nice leather chin strap for windy days.Looking forward to wearing it.

The hat is excellent but the leather is somewhat harder and therefore "smarter" than expected. It does not quite give the same casual appearance as the one I am replacing. Also, I fear is may show more if it carried slightly "folded" when not worn. (I know it is not foldable as such.) It may be that the old hat was softer and more accommodating about returning to shape simply through long-term wear.

Arrived 30 mins before I left for Uganda... Phew!Great quality.Provided with a chin strap which would only be required in high winds.I knew the size I'd need due to my motorcycle helmet; if you don't know your size please don't guess, measure.My only quandry was that being near the lower circumference in medium, I debated the small believing, as with bike leathers, the size would ease. I'm glad I went for medium and it fits me well.If it ever starts to ease there's a fold down flap of leather against the forehead; something could be tucked in there then flipped back up to pad it out if the sizing becomes loose.This has now travelled with me to Bwindi's gorillas, as well as serving me well in my travels throughout the country.Recommended.Wondering whether neutral shoe polish will help condition the leather, without losing it's rigidity, after the harsh African sun.Any other suggestions please?

I am happy with the purchase, I bought a large (as couldn’t find a medium) thought it would fit okay (which it does) I contacted the seller who directed me to another link in their store (as the current link wasn’t showing a medium), the hat fits fine however does move (a little larger than my head) but otherwise everything else is fine

Great hat. I had one similar that I bought in an outback Australian roadhouse in 2005 but I left it somewhere. This is a good replacement. I originally ordered the wrong size and the company was really helpful in exchanging it for the correct size. Would definitely recommend the product and the company.
