Battery Capacity only 80% of advertised
Despite being advertised as 8755mAh, the battery only measures 6887mAh, or only about 80% of an original, OEM Apple battery after two discharge cycles (see pic + last paragraph for details).Other than that, it’s worth 2-stars since there are no overheating/charging/bulging issues. So if your battery is completely kaput, then this will work great to give /some/ life back to your computer; just don’t expect it to be as good as the original.== Capacity Measurement Details ==I’ve attached a screenshot of the CoconutBattery app, which measures battery capacity for Macs. The first line (2018-10-10) is my old battery that I was replacing, The second (2018-11-10) is what the battery reports fresh out of the package before the computer has had a chance to calibrate/measure the battery, and (2018-10-18) is the capacity of the battery after 2 discharge cycles. And as you can see, the battery only has about 79% of the original design capacity. It's no better than the battery I was replacing in the first place!

Battery Capacity way lower than advertised
I installed the battery a month ago and everything went well with the installation. I completed a full charge and a complete discharge cycle as recommended. On day1, system report reported the battery capacity as ~8700mAh, which is what the seller advertises. However, as I was using the laptop on day1, I saw the battery charge dropped from ~70% down to 7% instantly. Based on the battery gauge learning over the last month of usage, the system report now reports battery capacity as 5900mAh. I expect this number will continue to get adjusted downwards because battery charge still drops from ~30% to 7% instantly during usage. This is a crappy battery, period! Given the amount of work involved in replacing the battery, spend the extra $ and buy the battery from a more reputable company.

Easy installation. Battery works great. Looks well made.
I am a certified Apple Technician who does not work for an authorized repair shop. Therefore, I look for replacement part alternatives that are less expensive when I can. With batteries, I can usually find a decent replacement for a fraction of the Apple price. This was the battery I chose, not the cheapest, but no negative remarks at the time on Amazon. The seller asked me to write a review not knowing what I would say and I realized that he would have trouble selling these batteries because of the most popular repair guides online, ifixit.com makes the replacement look impossible. The main guide for the battery replacement on this guide has you buying tools, removing logic board and wrestling with microscopic parts and fragile cables for well over an hour if you don't have experience with such repairs. Honestly, following this guide is not recommended for a non-computer technician. The problem is that this guide wants you to remove the trackpad so that you can hit the case with a heat gun without destroying trackpad in order to soften the adhesive that holds the battery in place. Well, good news: You DON'T have to do that!!! For me, I was able to get a credit card ( a plastic paint scraper would work well also) and slowly pull the old battery out. OMG. It was so easy. What a relief. I think I did remove the plastic speaker channels or some such thing. But I was absolutely dreading pulling out the trackpad.Bottom Line: Gently, slowly, pull out old battery. Required, fancy drivers included. New adhesive tape included. Easy install. I just spoke with my client and the battery works great. Saved money for my client. No problems. Also, I do recommend using the ifixit.com guide to get the case open and remove the plastic pieces that run along side of the battery. I would buy this product again and I would buy from this seller again.

Assuming the one you get works...
The first one I received was faulty. It refused to take a charge and would power off immediately after the power cable was removed. Using a tool like Coconutbattery can help you determine the state of the battery. For the first battery, it showed as "replace now". Contacted the seller, they walked me through a couple diagnostics and ultimately sent me a replacement. -1 star for not getting a working battery on the first try.Second battery worked great! Excellent price for a aftermarket battery, I'm sure I would've paid a fortune for the same thing from Apple.Couple quick notes regarding the replacement process. You will need to basically remove everything in the case to get enough workspace for removing the battery. I ended up cracking the battery cable socket because I got a bit too aggressive prying the battery cable out. My advice: DON'T pry the battery cable out from the bottom. There's a flimsy strip you can use to pull the cable out and it will come out with enough patience. The battery is stuck into the case using double-sided tape which is a pain in the rear to remove. Some sites recommend using adhesive remover to help unstick it, you'll need to be super careful how much you use since this is right next to the delicate touchpad. My advice is to use a couple old credit cards to wedge under the battery and slice at the adhesive. It will take a lot of patience and a good amount of elbow grease but there's no worry about too much or too little adhesive remover. Ultimately Apple made this super difficult to do in the hopes you will just buy a new macbook. Don't give up, show them who's boss!

This replacement has worked great! Be very careful removing your old battery
Another 5-star review for this replacement battery. The battery had started to expand in my 15" MacBook Pro. Apple wanted my computer for 3 days and to charge me 4x what this battery costs. So I swapped the battery myself. This replacement has worked great! Be very careful removing your old battery...puncturing it can cause a nasty fire. Also, blow out the dust from your fans while you have your Mac open.

Not bad...
If you have a 15” MacBook Pro with a bad battery, you should start with the Apple web site to see if it’s eligible for a free battery replacement under the “15-inch MacBook Pro Battery Recall Program”.Highly recommend having a look at some disassembly videos before you start (easy to find online), and have a plan for documenting what all the little screws are for so they all go back in the right place. The battery I received did not include any installation instructions. The 1st time I replaced the battery in this computer, I completely stripped it down - disassembled it. Useful if you want to get rid of all the dust that may have accumulated inside, but not absolutely necessary, because this replacement battery is slightly smaller than the original battery, thus it is possible to remove/ replace the battery without disassembling. If your existing battery is fully charged, you should run it down as low as you can before you start disassembly.Tools: I didn’t use the 2 screwdrivers that came with because I have a full set of high quality precision screwdrivers. The included drivers should work but be careful so you don’t strip a screw, they're not exactly built to last. If possible, you should also get yourself a nylon pry tool called a “spudger”, useful for picking apart and prying up tiny and delicate ribbon cables. Make sure it’s made of nylon, not metal. The existing battery is held in place with strong adhesive tape. Helpful for removal: a couple of plastic cards (old credit cards/hotel key cards) and some 100% acetone (nail polish remover). Put a towel between the screen and keyboard. and carefully put a few drops of acetone around one of the battery’s cells to dissolve the glue, then use the cards to lever it out a little at a time. Rinse and repeat with each cell. When the old battery is out, you can use a bit more acetone to dissolve the adhesive left on the computer’s chassis. In system report/power, the computer tells me this replacement battery is manufactured by SMP, which happens to be the company that Apple currently uses for its original batteries. This battery is probably 20 per cent lower capacity than the original, so it isn’t going to have super long life, but that’s OK. It works, and will extend the life of this still reasonably fast computer.

DO NOT BUY!!! If I could give zero stars I would!
My original battery was badly swollen and I removed it as soon as I realized how bad it was, this is not a fun process! This battery was the only Prime listing on Amazon.ca that was the exact match for my 15" mid-2015 MBP. There were mixed reviews with the majority good. Some people had failures right out of the box, however, the second one the seller supplied to other buyers seemed to be OK, so I decided to take a chance. I got the first one and it failed, when I could get the MBP to even start-up and did the diagnostic, it showed the battery was not installed at all!! If there had been another seller with the correct part number I would have switched at that point. I ordered a second one from the same seller confident I wouldn't be that unlucky twice, WRONG. The second one failed as well. Amazon .ca is pulling this one from the website!! Good Idea! To confirm it was the seller's battery I briefly reconnected the original swollen battery, the MBP worked fine and still showed 98% charge! I will promote the supplier outside Amazon.ca I bought the correct working battery from since Amazon does not have a valid 'Prime' Canadian seller, I hope it gets through Amazon's editors!! They are Esource Parts, a great independent supplier, I hope they consider coming onto Amazon!!!

Terrible Quality
The first battery I ordered did not work at all. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned it and ordered a replacement. The replacement worked great ... for about a week. And now it won't charge and my computer doesn't even recognize that there is a battery installed. Avoid.

You get you pay for I guess
Meh, it works as described but the battery life after replacement has been significantly worse since I made the replacement. Charge only holds for a few hours before you need to plug in.. and the battery indicator cant make heads or tails of the correct charge. One minute I'm at 27% the next I'm down to 8%... Take it or leave it, if I reinstall it again I will definitely be shelling out more $ for a better battery

A fraction of the cost and just as functional
Worked great for me. Battery was at half charge when it arrived and worked great right off the bat—my “please service battery” message went away and battery life is like it was when I bought the computer. The $100 cost sure beats paying the Official Apple quite of damn near $600! Well worth the effort to DIY it.
