Why is this not a yellow color like all other retinols I've ever seen?

Hi, been using PTR retinol serum for years. It has never turned yellow, nor have I seen a yellow retinol serum. Must be a dye or went bad?

Can i use this around my eyes for dark circles and puffyness?
