The best Orthodynamic Headset.
These planar magnetic earcups are a blessing!First of all, the design is pretty solid. It's mostly plastic, but it's a high grade LDPE, with matte finish. It's near impossible to stain them, and they look great with minimal maintenance. The construction is sturdy and the engineering is pretty neat. The weight is distributed evenly providing the best ergonomics in the class. the swivel joints are well designed; they may look flimsy in the screenshots, but they're anything but.The headphones have a detachable cord, with a right angle jack at both ends. This is a great engineering solution, as this reduces the strain on the weak spots of the cord. Also, there's literally no chance that you can accidentally damage the heaphones by pulling on the cord (which sadly is a scourge on all straight cord headphones. Now the sound. These are orthodynamic drivers, which means that they have near perfect sound clarity and flat frequency response within the audible spectrum. They respond quickly and have minimal noise footprint, certainly beyond the human ear's capacity to hear. Unfortunately, most planar magnetic drivers also have high impedance, so I would not recommend using these with a weak amplifier such as a phone or a low end tablet. However, since planar magnetic drivers mostly rely on metallic components, these will serve you a lifetime. The closed cups provide decent noise isolation. Unfortunately they also tend to make the headphones hot on the inside, so be prepared to sweat like a pig. They are a bit tooo stiff as well, so you might want to consider replacements which are dirt cheap.

Better sound with worse plastics than MK2s
I bought T40rp MK3 because I already had MK2 but it has been stolen. Sound quality is even better than previous generation but build quality... MK2 had piece of metal inside of the rubber headband, here, under fake leather there is just piece of plastic. Also other plastics, even shells are much worse quality materials than MK2s. I was buying Fostex headphones because they was absolutely robust but after MK3s I think I will need a change. That's still very good headphones but from MK3s they not fitting into my needs.

i would definitely recommend these to anyone that enjoys high quality sound without ...
Having had numerous headphones over the years, ranging from Sony to Sennhiesers and all else in between, these little beauties for the price are well worth it. When played through a headphone amp, the sound is mind blowing! i would definitely recommend these to anyone that enjoys high quality sound without breaking the bank.
