Amazingly light stand; and considering this,it appears to be surprisingly sturdy.My criticism is that it won't food small enough to be of use as travel/gig stand. (It's a huge 65cm/24")Furthermore, I would prefer no plastic parts, as I know from other manufacturers that after a few years they ALL brake - in contrast, my grandmother's stand from 1940s is still going strong....These points made, it's still one of the better ones

Lovely light weight stand with carry bag, makes carrying kit so much easier.

I bought this stand 5 months ago because I was looking for a lightweight stand and I had heard good reports about the bigger Rat stands. I assumed that the lighter weight stands would be of comparable quality. Although it was bulky to carry around, I was very pleased with its weight. I am now extremely disappointed as the bottom clip is failing and the stand gradually collapses as I try to use it. It is no longer reliable! I shall have to return to my old metal stands that have served me well for 30+ years.

So light, and the holding clips are extremely strong - removes the issues of losing screws etc. Bought for an entire orchestra for touring and make it all so much easier.

Very pleased with stand which looks good and is lightweight, robust and simple to put up and down. NB As it is made from aluminium, the recommended magnetic pencil holder will not stick to it.

My only complaint is that there isn't a ratchet angle option which is perfect for me - either too far back/flat, or so upright music is in danger of falling off. But that's just my preference. Otherwise great

This is a lightweight stand, but seems very sturdy. I like the 'clips' that hold it in position. However it is very long when folded, which I should have realised.

This was my second RAT stand and since I bought the first one, they've made several design changes for the better. The desk is now extendable and the clamps on the main column are much better designed than the original.However, there is one design flaw and that is the means of attachment of the desk to the main column. This is achieved by a small steel screw which is screwed directly into the aluminium column. The difference in hardness between the two metals, allows the threads to be stripped. In fact, mine arrived with the threads already stripped and the desk wobbling on top of the column with a loose screw that couldn't be tightened. However, I have no doubt that even if it had been in good condition, after some use, the threads would strip. A real shame as otherwise, this is a well-designed and light stand. Sadly returned.
