I couldn’t wait to write this review. I just washed my hair after coloring it with Alma’s henna. I went straight to the mirror to check if it covered my gray roots and it did! Yayyy!As I was washing it, not one hair came out, this is a great sign. This product is genuine (!), real henna that nourishes hair, gives it beautiful shine, gorgeous dark brown color and covers the gray.8 years ago I discovered henna in my home country (Uzbekistan) at a hair salon. The hair dresser colored my hair with henna and educated me on how to use it properly. I bought enough henna from her to take with me to US. Wnen I used it, I had really thick and healthy hair. But after a couple of years after I ran out of it I started coloring my hair with regular hair dyes from the store. Over the years my hair was thinning, I think because of all the chemicals in the hair coloring products. Last week something called me to search for henna and I found this product. The reviews were awesome so I bought a couple of boxes. This henna is exactly the one I bought from my home country a few years ago. It smells and looks the same. The way I use it is I mix it with boiled water until it’s a creamy consistency. Once I apply it to my hair, I wear a plastic bag and leave it on for 2 hrs. Then I wash it with warm water and shampoo a couple of times. It does get little messy, but your hair will be strong and healthy.Thank you! I’m so happy I found this miraculous product!

I bought two boxes bc I thought i was going to breed two for my hair but to my surprise the one box comes with two packages. It was easy, not messy and I love it. I dyed my hair over 3 wks ago and it hasn’t lost any color. Still as brown as i bought it. Will be buying this product as often as i need it.

Removal of one star because the mixture is potentially allergenic.This henna-indigo mixture was easy to prepare and apply for buildable, natural color. Note that the instructions are scant. I chose this product because its ingredient list is short: henna, indigo, and colorless henna. I wanted to avoid PPD, a common dye oxidizer and potent allergen.Unfortunately, this product still triggered an allergic reaction a couple hours later (I had no response with the skin patch test). The skin under and around my eyebrows became inflamed and intensely itchy; even after washing away the tint repeatedly with Cetaphil and then Vaseline, the intense itchiness did not fully subside until five days later; the eyebrow region skin flaked off on day seven.

I used to use black box dye to color my hair jet black. I did this religiously for years but after having a baby and switching to a more holistic lifestyle I said goodbye to my beautiful jet black curls . (My natural hair is a dark sandy brown)One day I came across a YouTube video where the girl was using this dye and ordered it immediately.I used it yesterday for the first time and I’m literally obsessed. My hair looks exactly like I used a chemical dye but it’s just plants?? Dark rich black color. 100% gray coverage! And my hair actually felt stronger.I left it on for 3 hours , washed with a hydrating shampoo, and then did a deep conditioning masque. Fluffy soft hair was the result.I plan on using this forever.

If you are allergic to permanent hair dye, do not buy this product. I used this product because I am allergic to permanent hair dye. I thought this product was safe for me because they claim it was made of henna and only natural herbal ingredients and that people who are allergic to chemicals should use this product. Well I used it and the next day, I was in the ambulance heading to the ER. I had an allergic reaction to the hair dye. My eyes were itching, my head, my face and ears were swollen. This company did not add all of their ingredients on their package.

Used one packet and a cup of water. Too soupy and used 3/4 cup the second time. Put on a plastic cap and sat under the dryer for 45-60 min. TOTAL COVERAGE! Black usually isn’t my first choice to I was shocked a couple of times when washing my hands and saw my reflection in the mirror 🙃 I’m post chemo and my hair is 3inches long and one pack of the two bags is more than enough. I wash my hair, apply mixed product, sit under the dryer, rinse til clear, apply conditioner, rinse and style. Black matches 1b synthetic hair well. Buying three more boxes which should get me through several months!

So, I will say this turned out much darker than I expected. It is partially my fault for leaving it on way too long. But, it turned out the darkest black of my life. I can hardly see any lightening even after over tried to lighten it for a few months using ascorbic acid, baking soda, citric acid, etc. It's odd because I've always been able to fade dark henna, but not this time. The only part of my hair that is lightening is my virgin roots. So, that's a bit discouraging. I wanted to try to lighten it so I can re-dye it in a month or so, but at this point I have light roots and very dark ends. I wonder what is in this dye that makes it THIS stubborn? Anyway, I guess if I liked the color I'd be happy it isn't fading, it's just way too dark for my skin tone!

Love this stuff. It’s painless, light kinda tobacco smell as it sits but it’s because it’s natural. Grey’s stay away longer, it’s better for hair and it doesn’t stain but you’ll want to still clean up. It’s so easy to do by yourself just be sure to get the back of your head like I missed the first time lol. It doesn’t drip. Love it!
