is this a deep manly sound???

I put these on my '08 Silverado 2500 HD. They are LOUD with a pretty beefy sound. I put them on the mounts the wussy factory horns were on.

Can they scare people and animals to death?

It's louder than most horns on the street (imo) and will turn heads but it ain't no train horn.

Do they work on any car?

Yes, it should work on any car. You may have to change the wire ends, as I did, from the factory connection on your oem horn. This is not a problem. Wire connectors available at any auto parts strore.

Can the mounting brackets be rotated or removed without affecting the horns?

Hello, the instructions specifically say "do not loosen the nut". The reason being it may very well change the horn sound as the two horns are paired harmonically and the bracket nut also controls sound output. That said, they are LOUD with great harmonics. I'm very satisfied.
