Works well for bluetooth equipped cars but screen is a bit dim
It amazes me that there is nobody doing in-depth comparison reviews of these devices. Nevertheless I took the leap with this no-name-brand unit and was pleasantly surprised that I had no issues connecting it with my iphone 13 pro and my Audi Allroad 2014 with MMI.The initial setup was easy, and the unit automatically powers on and connects via wireless carplay within about 20 seconds when I start the car. The responsiveness is not as good as I've seen in hard-wired in-dash car units, but it's not bad.I am using the windshield mount with the plastic arm fully extended, holding the back of the unit against the top of the dash. The suction cup sticker is very effective but of course will not withstand repeated removal or adjustment.I have a built-in rear view camera so I had no need to install the one provided. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to route that cable through the car's interior trim to reach the rear window...Also, many of these units are gigantic, and I can't see a great argument for anything bigger than 7" since it blocks a significant portion of your windshield. Some manufacturers are making shorter, more horizontally-oriented units, but none so far have Dual Bluetooth.Sound quality is great since my phone continues to connect directly with the car's built-in bluetooth for music and calls. Most of the stand alone Carplay units do not have this obvious "Dual-Bluetooth" functionality and it is crucial to avoid the hell of FM transmitters or additional AUX input cables. The main issue I have is that the viewing angle is not amazing and the screen can get washed out in bright sun. There appears to be some kind of matte anti-reflective film applied to the glass, but it mostly looks dusty and doesn't prevent glare like the car's built in screen does.I realize that they are adapting off-the-shelf android tablet components to make these units, but considering it is running off 12V DC power they should be specifying much brighter non-reflective IPS screens to maximize viewing angles and daytime brightness.

Worked great, now it’s terrible.
First month or so it worked perfectly. Connected with no problem. Now it turns on and off randomly , phone will not connect automatically, and never heard back from Spedal support.

Beautiful Screen for My Old Vehicle Without a Screen
The Spedal Wireless Apple Carplay is an absolute game-changer for my old vehicle. It's like giving my old car a whole new life! The added bonus of the built-in dash cam is fantastic. It automatically records my driving, providing an extra layer of safety and security on the road. The video quality is impressive, capturing every detail with clarity. The device's touch screen is responsive and intuitive, resembling the familiar iOS layout. It supports Siri voice control, allowing for hands-free operation while driving. The Spedal Wireless Apple Carplay has transformed my old vehicle into a modern and connected driving experience. Whether it's the convenience of Apple Carplay or the added security of the dash cam, this device has become an indispensable part of my daily commute. If you have an older car without a built-in screen or Apple CarPlay capability, I highly recommend the Spedal Wireless Apple Carplay. It's an amazing upgrade that brings your vehicle into the 21st century, providing an immersive and safe driving experience.

A great little unit
I've been looking for a relatively inexpensive way of adding wireless Carplay to our older car. The existing single DIN head unit isn't positioned well for replacing with a Carplay enabled alternative and I was looking at circa £1,000 on an Alpine Freestyle which would then have needed installation and some element of fabrication for a housing for the screen or ripping out existing dials on the dashboard and carving up the fascia to make a space to install it. Then I found this on Amazon. I was sceptical that it would work as I wanted and be compatible with my existing setup without leaving cables trailing all over the inside of the car but thought it was worth a punt. And so far it's more than exceeded my expectations. The unit itself is compact and understated. I went with the 796W as based on one image I found, the connection ports are along the bottom rather than the side, which was my preferred approach. I say ports but for my needs it's just the USB-C port for power that I'm using. The mount arm for the device I haven't touched as the bracket plate that this connects to ends in a small ball socket which is identical to two other car vent mounts I've had from previous installations of my iPhone so I was able to use the previous vent mount clip with the bracket for the 796W and install that way.Power is currently delivered through the cigarette lighter socket adaptor that came with the package but some testing tonight seems promising to power this using the 5v, 1a output that my current stereo has (this may well not work long term or not with the dashcam but so far I haven't tried the dashcam). I need to do some more testing of this but hopefully on the weekend I can pull the shroud of the centre console out and use the existing USB connection from the stereo to power this with the cable then hidden under the shroud and nicely out of sight. The display itself is bright and clear. I haven't tried driving at night or in bright sunlight yet but average overcast Saturday in May daytime driving was fine with good visibility at all times and the Carplay connection was stable. The screen was responsive when touched and the only issues I had with starting navigation were due to poor reception on my phone and nothing to do with this unit. In fact once I'd given up on waiting for the phone and started driving, when I would see a better signal I was then able through this unit to restart the navigation, select the preferred route and the navigation picked up from there. For audio I'm using bluetooth and generally this works well. The only issue I'm having is if I stop playing music or a podcast, I then seem to lose the audio from Apple Maps navigation. I think this is an issue with my stereo rather than this unit, though, and further fiddling is required to understand what's going on there.Startup time is pretty good. After initial setup was complete it now takes a few seconds from power getting to the unit for the screen to power up and then it's pretty quick to auto-detect the phone and switch through from the menu of the device to the setup screen for bluetooth to the wireless Carplay feed, all without any input required from me. As the power source I'm using only runs to this and the stereo when the ignition is on this means I can get in, start the car and within 5-10 seconds (I haven't actually timed it) I'm connected and ready to go. Aesthetically it would look nicer if you didn't see the setup screen for bluetooth in the connection sequence once you've paired everything but it's only there briefly. At just over 300g I do have a worry that if I hit a large bump or pothole the whole unit could jump with enough force to snap my air vent vane. But that's very much on me if it happens. So far it's been heavy enough that it hasn't really moved with the usual bumps of driving around the UK and seems nicely stable. So overall, I'm really pleased with this. It's a nice, neat and relatively cheap way of adding Carplay to an older car. That I can power it from the current stereo's USB port is a huge bonus for simplifying the install and allowing me to hide the cable. And that I can route the phone audio via the stereo's bluetooth connection means I get to use my steering wheel controls as well as the Carplay display and make full use of the car's speakers.

Great solution when vehicle's infotainment system doesn't support Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
This is a pretty neat and useful device. It has a HD display that mirrors your smartphone's audio/video content via Airplay mirroring or links up via Bluetooth to create a CarPlay or Android Auto capable display giving access to Google Maps, Waze, Spotify and many other useful apps while driving.Set-up is easy and intuitive.Audio can be output through built-in speaker or through the built-in FM transmitter tuned to car's radio (which I recommend). The developer/seller was quick to respond when I faced few technical difficulties and resolved the issue promptly.Thank You.

Great product for the price
Always connects automatically to my phone. Music works via Spotify. Super easy to install. Only negative is that it didn't stay stuck to my dashboard but I just use a regular CD slot phone holder and twist it to fit the back of the screen!
