Frank Spinath weaves his magic again
Although different in some ways to his other musical projects (Seabound, Edge of Dawn, and Ghost&Writer) - more of a soundscape-ambient feel in places, less lyrics (though no less poetry), there are some stunning outstanding moments too, in unexpected places. After one proper listen through I'd say my favourite track is definitely To What I Don't Know - I've heard a few versions of this on compilations and remixes, and they are all brilliant and spine-tingling in their own ways; utterly sublime and a great theme song for anyone facing anything challenging in life. Least favourite? Murder, as it feels the least interesting in musicality and lyric.Subsequent listens will yield a more comprehensive review, but for now all I can say is that it is a sheer joy to be subsumed in Spinath's music again, and it would take a huge effort for him to ever drop below a five star for me. As always, I recommend listening to this whilst out in nature, ideally somewhere with views or coastline, at dawn or dusk - because his music is deeply insightful, often very intensely emotional, and is enhanced by huge, dramatic or poignant landscapes.
