The Motion Activated Owl works great. Just be sure you buy Energizer rechargeable or non-rechargeable AA batteries. The EGL brand AA batteries do not fit in the battery compartment of the Owl properly. I used EGL brand at first and thought the Owl did not work. The EGL brand batteries are 'off size' just enough that the positive terminal does not connect to the positive terminal in the Owl's battery compartment. I traded out the batteries for Energizer brand and the Energizer batteries connect to the terminal and the Owl works great.

Purchased to try to scare away the deer and keep them from eating the plants in front of the house.OK, I did not light it up (didn't turn it on) right away and try it out. I took it out of the packets and left it on the dining room table for a while. When I got back to it, I noticed the switch on the back was punched in (and broken off, pushed inside). Not sure if it came that way or if maybe one of the kids pushed it in playing with it, not realizing it is an up/down, on / off mechanism. Anyhow, the owl is broken and shall never function, for me. Waited too long to try to return it. Now-a plastic bronze colored wall decoration....maybe. What to do with it now? Not recommended. Delicate.

Lowering rating to one star as they both stopped working and are now just a reminder about buying Chinese junk.Got these to scare off a few wild dogs/coyotes we have showing up at night. I wasn't expecting much but they work and the dogs seem to be intimated by the lack of images on the trail cams. Some reviewers state the are very loud, which I do not agree with - mine could be louder, but the hooting with the bright LED eyes seem to do the trick.

I bought 3 of these for my Mom due to birds trying to nest in her carport. They work like a charm. I also have one myself, but mine has developed a glitch. It tends to get stuck chattering and won't shut off until the battery dies. I've resorted to using the light feature without the sound to deter cats from my BBQ shed. I really like these. They are not screechy. They don't drive me crazy, and in fact, I like to hear them. If I ended up with only 1 out of 4 with a problem, I guess that's not too bad. They do seem to be getting hard to find though...

It's a great product but I wish it was a rechargeable USB because it does go through batteries quite a bit I believe three AAA or maybe three AAA don't remember but other than that works well and gives good light at the front door and let you know someone's at your door before they ring the bell

I bought one of these last year and liked it well enough to get another this year, even though it didn’t last too long. The hoot is nothing like a real owl, but it’s loud enough for me to hear when someone is at my back door and I’m in a part of the garden where they can’t see me. It also hoots at squirrels and wind, but it worked well enough for my purpose, so I ordered another. That one didn’t work. He would hoot once, then his eyes stayed lit and wouldn’t react to motion anymore. That would surely have drained my batteries quickly so I asked for a replacement. The seller was great, I got another in a few days. (Still an inconvenience to have to go to Kohls to return it). The new one is not much better, I thought I would have to send it back too. There is a 3 way switch, hoots and lights, just lights and in the middle off. This one does actually work, but only in the off position. So I’m undecided whether or not to keep it, seems like it’s just wired wrong, but maybe a sign that it won’t work for very long. So, it has a limited application, I would never leave it out in the weather, but it’s handy for my unique needs. I just wish it was more dependable, 25.00 is not cheap for a little plastic owl.

We use this owl to put on our porch to keep the stray cats away, so they don't trip the blink cameras. The eyes are adjustable up and down and are very bright. The hoot is not very convincing, but it does the trick, no cats or squirrels! The owl has a stand on the back to place it freely anywhere or you can use the slot in the back to hang it up, this is the perfect motion product for the money, and our neighbors get a kick out of it when they come over.

I wanted something to scare the deer off of my patio, that is why I bought it. The thing is VERY sensitive to motion and I finally turned the sound off so the neighbors wouldn't get annoyed. It activates when a plant leaf moves. I eventually brought it inside and now use it as a motion light in my sun room for when I let the dogs out back. Let me update..I really liked it but it stopped working and new batteries dont help. Im sad that this only worked for such a short time.

I love owls so got this for my back fence. The light is quite bright and the sensor has a long reach. My feedback is the hoot is quite loud and there is no volume control. It’s one max volume only. Since the sensor is really good it was picking up cars way down our back lane and hooting at them. So I’ve switched it to light only, no sound.

Excelente, estoy encantada tiene un muy buen tamaño, súper detallado, los ojos los pueden mover dependiendo de la dirección que quieran que enfoque la luz (se mueven poco pero tu los tienes que mover manualmente)Es con sensor de movimiento con el cual ulula y enciende pero lo ajustas con un botón que se encuentra en la parte trasera del mismoEl sonido y la luz es potente !!! Tiene aros para colgarse y trae un soporte tipo portarretrato para sostenerse sobre alguna superficie plana.Tardó en llegar pero me ha gustado el producto, contiene catete plástico para montarse en la pared .Sin duda es producto que se pensó en todo, se agradece la calidad del producto y vale su precio !Es para interiores, en mi caso lo quiero para una habitación específica que le da un toque dulce y mágico.

Works, but a bit too sensitive. Wish there was a way to reduce sensitivity. Goes off when a mosquito flies in front of it.
