I bought this for my daughter to keep in her backpack. She walks to the bus and an upstate New York. It seems to always be raining. I love that it comes with a case. How to protect everything else in her bag. I had her practice opening and closing it a couple times on her own and it was pretty simple. I'll probably order one for myself because the one I currently have does not have a case. It could easily fit in someone's purse. I was also thinking it would be great for our Disney trips. It's decent quality. The price is fantastic.

How can you resist mini umbrella with strawberry print? Especially when you live in NYC where drizzling is a default and public transportation is your friend? So I ordered it and I have very mixed feeling about this umbrella. So here is what I think.Build Quality and Design:So this umbrella comes with proper container with same print. It smells like new print (subtle petroleum scent.) The print is true to color and very vibrant. I think design wise' it's pretty good. HOWEVER, to be honest, it's not really made with so much sophistication. Stiches are below average, Velcro to bind umbrella has seams and some area without proper stiches. The central frame is very thin, so I don't think it will hold heavy rain either. However, the synthetic umbrella material is relatively thick and it seems very sturdy.Ergonomics:It doesn't have proper handle just with half spherical handle. It's very uncomfortable to hold it for longer time, so be aware of it if you cannot overcome the uncomfortableness over cuteness of the strawberry print.Functionality:Also, it's extremely hard to open the umbrella. Due to its mini design, you have to push really hard to open this umbrella, and as you can see from the 2nd picture, it opens with very weird shape. You can gently pull down then you will see the normal umbrella shape. Further, the package which is provided is not really waterproof. The inner side is fabric witout water repellent material. It won't leak the water to outside due to the thickness but it will smell very ungraceful if you don't dry them properly after use the umbrella.Buy it if you need: cute umbrella for cosplay probably. You won't find this comfortableDon't if you need: a proper umbrella that can stay long

It is cheaply made and extremely small. It wouldn’t stay latched open. Don’t waste your money.

Perfect size, compact case, works great for light snow or rain with no wind

Oh! This umbrella is super cute for rainy weather like today or even to protect from the hot sun during the summer time. My daughter & I love the cute design that is exactly as advertised. The matching hard case is a plus! My 10 year-old daughter wanted this so badly however, it does have some flaws. It’s a 2-step process to open the umbrella. First, you’ll have to manually pull the umbrella up. Then, you’ll need to press the silver button & push really hard to open it up & lock it in place (my daughter & 12 year-old son had trouble doing the last part). You’ll need to do the same steps in reverse to close it. In order for the umbrella to fit in its case, my tip is that you tightly gather up all the 6 plastic corners & insert them carefully in the base before strapping up the canopy. Therefore despite looking so cute & kid-friendly, it’s not recommended for kids. The process is too tedious for kids & adults alike. In addition, the round base (smaller than a tennis ball), is too small to grab with one hand. You’ll have to grab onto the shaft in order to get a good grip. Also, the base is removable so don’t lose it! In summary, this umbrella is super cute & portable but requires time & patience (& strength) in order to operate it. I hope my honest review with pics can assist you in your decision making.

My first impression of this mini umbrella was it didn't work. I tried to open the umbrella and it wouldn't lock into the open position. Finally, using some extra force I got it to lock in place. I felt like I was handling a mouse trap that was getting ready to snap my finger somewhere. Next, I noticed the top of the umbrella was not like a dome but more concave like something that would collect water rather than repel it. After looking at the misshaped umbrella in disbelief I accidentally touched the top edge and the whole thing snapped into a more usable dome like shape. Once again, I call this the mouse trap effect where you think the umbrella is going to get you somehow. The bottom line is this umbrella has a learning curve: 1) Use extra force to open and lock in place. 2) Tap on the top outer edges to obtain a dome shape. Good Luck.
