First class soup mix
Maggi soups have always been a favourite of the catering trade and I still buy the trade packs now that I am retired. The soup has a good flavour, can be made up in just a few minutes and the Wild Mushroom flavour is in my opinion one of the best ready prepared mushroom soups available. I always keep some sliced and freeze dried mushrooms in hand which can be added to give the soup a more professional texture. Can also be used as a surprisingly good base for casseroles and stews.

Excellent as a cup a soup and much cheaper!
I was sceptical, this is supposed to be simmered according to the packet. At home I used it as a base for making other meals (chicken In mushroom sauce etc) but then took it to work where its brilliant as a cup soup. Trial and error getting it right but I put between 1 and 1 1/2 teaspoons into a cup.. slowly trickle in cold water and stir like crazy until you have about a centimetre of smooth liquid. Then hit it with freshly boiled water from the kettle whilst stirring and it'll come together really nicely. I find the latter measurement yields quite a thick soup. Considering how much it costs for just 4 or 5 normal cup a soups this is incredible cheap. It keeps well as I've had mine a few months now and its fine.

Weird taste
I've been using this like others as a cupasoup which I appreciate is not how it's meant to be made. Unfortunately, if you use more than one teaspoon in a mug it's got a very weird, synthetic aftertaste. I've also has to sift out the noodles as there's way to many and they don't really work in a cupasoup. The Knorr soup is much better in my opinion.

Great Price and flavour
When I was in the catering trade we used many of the maggi products. Not being able to find small packets in the local shops I found these soups on Amazing. I have purchased 3 different flavours with the view of also getting chicken. These 4 flavours form the basis of most soups or sauces.Still the same taste and quality that I remember. A large quantity but if you share the cost with someone else it is well worth it. Jeff

Very happy with this purchase.
I had not used Maggi products previous to this purchase, so taking something of a risk from my point of view, however, I have now had some of this soup and am not disappoint.I now have a country vegetable soup, alongside an oxtail soup (for variety), and have and will enjoy.I have had this soup with a handfull of pasta through it and it makes a satisfying meal, though a sandwich alongside will also be enjoyed, an old pleasure :-POverall, I am very happy with this Maggi's Country Vegetable soup.

I was delighted when I found Maggi soup for sale with Amazon
I was delighted when I found Maggi soup for sale with Amazon. My wife had sung its praises for so long, but was unable to find it anywhere local, I thought she would be delighted with the purchase. However, the reality was totally different. It was her intention to use the powder to flavour casseroles and make some delicious soup as we had enjoyed many years ago. She decided to make a soup first, she followed the instructions to the letter. It turned out to be a bitter disappointment and was only fit to be thrown away, it was tasteless and had a consistency like water.I later decided to have a go, I added considerably more powder, this turned out more like a gell and the taste hadn't improved at all. Before we throw it all away, if there is a chef, who can prove us wrong, he is more than welcome to try.If I had known how to give a 'ZERO' rating, I would have. The product was a complete waste of money.

My steps for individual/family portions from the 2kg MINESTRONE version
The manufacturer recommends 58g of mix to 1 litre of water ,I found that 65g suited me better. This is my method for 1 LITRE ONLY OF THE MINESTRONE ,Measure out 1 one litre of cold water, pour a quarter of the cold water into a cup or bowl big enough to take the 65g of soup mix and quarter litre of cold. Add the remaining three quarters of the litre of cold water to a saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer. Mix the soup mix and water into a smooth paste then add to simmering water in the pan ,keep stirring every minute or so for 7 mins, turn it off and let it settle for a few mins before serving .I also add any Gammon ,beef , potato, carrots ,leek etc left overs to it too along with a bit more water and a half or whole Knorr stock cube and a bit of white pepper for a thick vegetable soup almost stew (which I find the part baked rolls or baguettes from any of the supermarkets usually about a £1 for six rolls or two baguettes go together well with the soup too).

Fast shipping and excellent packaging. The Leatherman tool feels very premium and sturdy.
Add required amount of MAGGI Potato & Leek Soup to cold water and mix to a smooth paste. Whisk soup mixture into boiling water. Return to boil. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, whisking occassionally.
