It is sturdy. I used it when I had hip surgery. And I still use it sometimes when I need assistance to get up from bed/couch when I am in pain.

Just had total knee replacement surgery and this helped me get up out of my rocker/recliner. I do wish it was a little more sturdy

I use it in the bathroom. Keeps me steady as I get into and out of tub for showering. Without it I would not attempt to get into the tub. Easy to assemble, and can be adjusted to your height. Sturdy structure and design makes it stable. Padded hand grasp prevents my hand from slipping, even when wet.

As others have mentioned, this device is lighter than it looks. That’s good if used as a walking assistant. Not so good if you’re leaning all your weight on it to get out of a bed or chair. The assembly was straightforward with the instructions. It even included a small Phillips head screwdriver. The worst part was attaching the crossbars. The end caps don’t actually fit into the crossbars. They just kind of sit on the ends. The crossbars are also almost too big to fit between the vertical bars. So the trick is to try to hold both end caps in place while sliding in the crossbars at a diagonal until you reach the screw holes. It’s not easy and took multiple attempts because the caps kept popping off or became misaligned with the bar. That’s a major design flaw. I think the worst part about this device is that it’s not completely stable. As you can see from the uploaded video, the bottom is not completely flat so it rocks a bit. I don’t think it’s a safety issue yet but we’ll see once we have more experience with it.

It can fall to the side. one thing that can make falls worse is counting on something to support you, that fails. this product is fine if you only need to steady yourself. but don't put too much weight on it.

Sturdy and helpful

Got this to help getting up and down with a multiple fractured leg. It is definitely worth every penny. It is sturdy enough for 230 lb person to use.

I wanted something to assist my husband getting off the reclining chair or couch. This is most useful for that. As it has different levels to hold onto, it is most convenient. I find it very stable and secure to grasp and hold onto. We also use it as an assist in getting in and out of the bathtub. Its base is very stable and the top is easy to hold onto. It is light enough that it can be easily moved from room to room. I am most happy with it.

Bought for my parents as they need help getting out of their seat all the time . It doesn’t seem stable enough and it doesn’t help at all. I can’t return it as I threw everything away and they aren’t cheap.

I hate getting items that when you have most of it put together, you find one part missing or defective. This is one of those times...
