Peace of mind
Great product, works great when off shore and there is no cell signal

No grid no problem. No space big problem.
Right out the box no instructions no videos no nothing. Set up and was texting and receiving messages with in 40 min. Carry on me while at work 5,6 days a week in mountains heavy tree for any emergencies like wild fires or other kinds. Also while fishing in streams rivers in like conditions or worse. The best fishing holes are always hidden. Stay in touch when needed or to check in for peace of mind say good night on those longer trips a must bye for anyone who always wants to be on top of the situation and one move ahead of the next whatever it is thatโs wants to put the hurt on you and yours. I do own the Garmin instinct and. That works seamlessly with the inreach. Paired with your phone getting lost is impossible not being found within 1 day seems believe able enough. If you carry this with you and a life straw you could survive that long if you really wanted to even with very little water. Think about it. Mojo.

Lived remote for 9 months
I lived in remote Congo for 9 months and this made such a difference. I was able to keep in touch with my family daily and felt safer with the SOS signaling. Only critique is it runs out of battery pretty quickly and without the app messaging is super difficult.

Peace of mind offshore
This device, though a little pricy, is worth every penny. Im able to check weather, send and receive texts, and if necessary, use it for navigating. Plus, SOS button in case of emergency. It will send out my position and call appropriate rescue. Battery lasts for days. Use my cell phone, along with the app to send the messages. If the cell battery goes down it can be used as a stand alone device. Device only was about three ounces and is small. It can easily fit in a pocket. Mainly use it when I go offshore fishing and lose cell service.

Tremendous peace of mind while thru-hiking
My wife spent about 3 weeks on the Continental Divide Trail in New Mexico this spring. With tracking turned on I could see her location on the Garmin Share page every 10 minutes, and was able to notify her several times when she was off track. The Garmin Messenger app on her cell phone allowed her to use the device to send and receive messages fairly promptly, by satellite. Later the Messenger app quit working but she was still able to send check-in message with her location. (The app had to be re-booted and then worked fine - ALWAYS TEST THE FUNCTIONS before starting a long trip.) She had some times of danger while crossing rivers, climbing over rocks, and on steep, slippery trails so knowing she could summon rescue services with the SOS function provided a measure of comfort.

Peace of Mind
This product is not the easiest to use but it does work and gives my wife peace of mind when I am out in the wilderness, which I am quite a lot. I do long distance travel to remote location where there is seldom any cell phone coverage. I do this riding a motorcycle which adds to my wife's concerns. Now she know just where I am at anytime. I also buy their emergency insurance which covers helicopters in case of an emergency.

Forced data submission
Very disappointed, Garmin redid their Connect App. and you are now forced to put your age into the company's database in order to use the product you paid for, this is the company that just got hacked a couple years ago, yea! credit card, address, and age, a hackers dream, it'll be a headline at some point.
