Works for ps3. Pretty sure that it would be suitable for xbox 720.

Please understand that the sockets on your ps3 and tv are to connect those devices to the internet. They are not intended to connect devices to each other. The normal way to connect a device like a ps3 to a tv is an audio and video connection like an hdmi cable. Once upon a time ethernet cables were used to connect computers together directly. For that you needed s special "crossover" cable. The cable in question here is NOT a crossover. So do not try connecting devices together BY ETHERNET. These days devices connect to each other by being on your local network. Via a switch or your router. OK?

Q: Sorry bit of a tech dud...just wondering,can i plug this into the bt thingy (for wifi) and into my bt hub so i can move the hub away from the socket?

These Ethernet cables are not the ones going between the filter and router/hub, they are what come out of the hub into other devices such as a computer or media box (rather than those devices being connected by WiFi), so the hub will still be in the same place closer to the wall socket. These are longer than the standard Ethernet cables you get with devices though so you can reach further from the hub to those devices.
