Make sure to put gear oil in the foot of the motor
I really like this little outboard motor, especially for the price. Starts on the 2nd pull every time. Pushes my 14’ Jon boat at 6-7 mph in slow moving creek water. Make sure to check the foot for gear oil. Mine arrived empty. It’s simple to add the oil (I googled it.) I changed it after the first use and as to be expected had a few metal shavings it it. (Don’t forget to add engine oil also). Don’t add too much, the hash marks on the bottom 1/4 inch of the dipstick tell when it has the correct amount. They are a little difficult to see on mine. It doesn’t have a reverse, just simply turn the engine around backwards and flip the tiller handle completely over and you have reverse. The motor locks in place when turned completely 180 degrees. It doesn’t kick up thanks to that feature. Great outboard engine for the price and does exactly what I need it to do.

jet motor
I was initially looking for an electric trolling motor for my son's kayak. Paddling can be a real chore, especially if there is a current. I wasn't thrilled with the prices, the weight of a battery, or the thought of a prop hitting my son's (or my) legs. I settled on this motor because it has no exposed propeller, is fairly lightweight, needs no battery, and runs on regular gas. It arrived quickly, in good condition and seems to be fairly well made. It doesn't have a primer, but it has a choke. The choke lever is small, but I finally found it. I added oil to the crankcase. There does not seem to be any provision for oil in the lower unit, I suppose because it is a jet setup and not a prop.It started fairly well, seems to run ok. It has a clutch, so it does not propel at idle. No neutral or reverse, you flip the motor around for reverse, set it to idle for neutral. I have not had it on the water yet, hoping for the best!

Reliability
Haven't had long but so far seems to be a great motor. Works great in the creeks I fish

Excellant idea, lack luster performance
Had to return due too lower footing gears not working properly. Installed lower footing oil as stated but still had issues. Motor ran good but needs improved with lower unit gears. Be advised, seller will refund initial shipping and cost of unit, but YOU the shopper will have to pay return shipping. Cost me 71.62$ to ship it back and they refuse to pay for the return. Just a heads up for anyone looking at these little motors.

This is a light weight unit. Flimsy construction
Was priced low. Economy model. Does the job for small motors. Motors over 100# makes it shaky. Braces only rest in a notch. Should be attached (bolted) to add security. It is shaky under load. First one returned as parts were missing. Axel and wheels.

Holds my 8hp Yamaha perfectly.
Holds 70lbs no problem...I don't know how much more though. Lol
