Play Line - 50ft Slackline Kit for Beginners with Help Line, Ratchet, Tree Protectors, Reusable 'Zero Waste' Packaging

I bought this for my son a few years ago and he's just started to get to the point where he can use it. (He was 7 when I bought it, he's 10 now). First the good: Fifty feet of line with about 8 feet attached to the ratchet allows you flexibility when setting it up. The set up is relatively easy and the ratchet is smooth and works well, with no skips or glitches. The webbing is nice and wide with a rubberized grip and the whole set up has no problem holding me at 230 nevermind my 70 Lb. son.Now the bad: As several have noted the help line with the D-ring is just about useless. It's almost impossible to keep it taut enough to be of any value. HOWEVER, for a relatively cheap fix, I began using a ratchet from a tie down strap and that was the perfect fix. The only downside is you lose quite a bit of length because you are ratcheting the line directly and not adding the line attached to the D-rings. But adding the ratchet allowed me to keep it as taut as the slackline itself, so it's now perfect.Mine didn't come with the DVD, but the directions are pretty clear. I did ratchet it incorrectly once and the line got tangled in the ratchet, which took me about 30 minutes and a lot of profanity to fix. Follow the directions and you'll have no issue. It also didn't come with a carry bag, which most of its competitors do. not sure if newer versions do. All in all, this is a good line. With the fix to the helpline it is nearly perfect. BUT, the extra ratchet should come with it so I don't have to pay for it and don't lose length of the helpline.

Overall, this is a well made slack line. The overhead help line, which is perfect for beginners, is what attracted me. There are two slight drawbacks the buyer should be aware of.1) The ratchet end of the line can only be wrapped around trees smaller than 70 inches (178cm) in circumference. That may sound large, but any tree with a diameter of 22 inches or more (55cm) will be too large. If you plan to use this in your back yard, go measure your trees before you buy. The D-ring end of the help line is even shorter, causing the same problem. Luckily this can be wrapped around branches, if necessary.2) If you bought this model specifically because of the overhead help line, note that it is held in place by metal D-rings. As other reviewers have mentioned, these do a poor job of holding the line under tension. If you put more than a few pounds of force on the line, the rings will slip and the line will loosen. I found that I was constantly having to retention the overhead line. The D-rings are basically useless. I eventually gave up and just tied knots in the overhead line.For the price, I think this line, with the overhead help line, is a great value. I can't give it more than 4 stars because of the serious limitation on tree diameter and the ineffective D-ring fastening system for the over head line.

High quality slackline. I'll echo the same complaint as many other reviewers which is that the help line with the D rings is basically useless. As soon as your kid puts any pressure at all on the help line it loses tension and needs to be tightened again. Also, mine did not include the promised instructional DVD although I wouldn't have used it anyway.Pros:- High quality construction and stitching- Color and pattern look great- Trusted brand- High quality tree protectors- Detailed instruction manual and safety warningsCons:- Help line is useless- No carrying bag- Promised DVD was not included- Tree protectors are a bit short for large treesIf you're on a budget, I would recommend  Get Out! Full Slackline Kit - Classic Slackline with Training/Help Line, Ratchets, Tree Protectors & Carrying Bag , which I purchased at the same time for $33. It seems to have nearly the same level of quality, has a ratchet for the help line, has longer tree protectors and includes a carrying bag.

The slackline itself seems to be of excellent quality and set up was pretty easy with the use of the DVD. The kids are eager to master it. The helpline, I'm finding, is pretty useless. It's secured with a D-ring. A D-ring! Doesn't matter how well you secure it, if even a little bit of weight is put on the helpline (which, kids are gonna do), you're going to find yourself setting it up over and over again. I'm actually on Amazon today looking for a better helpline (one with a ratchet, maybe) to use with this product. I'm disappointed with the helpline's performance, mostly because I wouldn't have spent the money on a whole "kit" if I knew I was going to be back here spending more money on a better helpline. I would recommend the the manufacturer reconsider the helpline mechanism.

Nice product and simple fun for the kids. Only issue was the lack of tree protection (felt pad) for the help line. The ratchet is of solid quality & very durable build. Setup was easy, even though the DVD was missing (thank you YouTube). I'm looking forward to taking this with us whenever we go to parks. Easy to transport & setup/take down.

I bought this for my grandson. He was very happy with it. Very sturdy and well made.

My kids love this slackline! I especially like the tree pads it comes with that protect the bark and trees in general. It's very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight depending on the thickness of the trees. We've had 2 adults and 2 kids on it all at the same time.

Great product! Kids love it. The helpline was greatly appreciated and so we're the tree protectors. All in one! Highly recommended

Great Family fun... It did not come with the instructional DVD... Vendor didn't offer any other solution other then to return it. The price point was too good to return

Great set for kids and learners. The learning line helps a lot! You can always expect quality for a good price from SI. I own four of their different sets and they are all very good bang for your buck.
