Disappointed
First bulb of the two-pack worked great, no concern. Six months later, I went to replace it with the second one from the pack and it won’t fit! See the pic I posted, the new one on the right is just a little longer, enough to not fit into the ballast. Of course, since it has been almost a year, I can’t return it. I don’t even understand how that even happens. Aren’t they manufactured based on specs…

The purple color is the newest bulb
I have been using these bulbs for 5 years now for my bearded dragon. This month, I ordered replacements and I noticed they were giving off a slightly purple color instead of the normal bright white color. I reached out to ZooMed customer service to find out if this was a fake or if they made changes and this was the response I received: "Thank you for reaching out! I apologize for the confusion, but rest assured there is nothing wrong with these bulbs. You actually have the newest version with an improved UV spectrum. Here's more detailed information about the improvement and why it looks different: The main purpose of our ReptiSun T5 line is to provide your animals with beneficial (but invisible) UV wavelengths that are critical to your pet’s health. We continually work to refine the UV spectrum to better match the best light source out there – the Sun! In the latest update, they increased the (invisible) UVA2 output so that the overall UV balance (UVB to UVA) more closely aligns with natural sunlight. To achieve this, a small amount of energy was shifted away from the visible spectrum, which makes the bulb appear warmer, or more reddish, to the human eye. This tradeoff is well worth it, as the improved UV balance better supports hormone regulation, natural behaviors, and activity levels in your pet."

Defective
T5 bulbs are supposed to last between 6 months to a year. Mine hardly lasted 2 months before it burned out and short of removing my one functional bulb (which I can’t do because my reptile needs it) and shipping both back at my expense for a refund, Amazon wouldn’t do anything about it
