Ultralight and very useful!
I've used these about a dozen times at home, and also on one camping trip. They're great! Other reviews have mentioned that the snaps might be a little fragile, so I've made a point of being careful with them, and had no problems so far.The plate is a little small, but you can actually leave it unsnapped, which makes it quite a bit larger, and the sides will still slope up a little. Just be careful if you lift it up when it's full of food, because it's not very rigid when unsnapped. The bowl and cup have measuring marks in ounces and ml, a nice touch. Last week I made some pan bread, using the cup to measure the ingredients, and the bowl to mix them. Once the dough got sticky, I unsnapped the bowl, flattened it out, and used it as a "countertop" for kneading the dough. The thin plastic means they can get hot when you put hot food or drinks in them; but the sides have raised tabs so you can hold them without burning your fingers. They're tough enough to use as cutting boards; a steak knife doesn't hurt them, but I'd be careful if I used a razor-sharp camp knife. The set of three only weighs about 4 oz, and they fold flat to take up almost no space in your pack. These are great for anyone who wants to travel light, but still do some creative cooking, and not have to eat supper out of a pouch.

Effective, lightweight, easy to clean
Purchased these for backpacking and I have been very satisfied.Material: durable, foldable plastic. Inside is textured, while outside is non-slip. The product clearly tells you which is which.Weight: Very light. Compared to hard plastic cups and plates, this is about half the weight, and it takes up substantially less room in your pack. Easy to slip into the bladder compartment or jam along the side wherever it fits.User experience: Great. I am especially pleased with how the origami cup allows insulation for your fingers against hot liquids inside (the folds separate your hands from the heat). However, I haven't found much use for the bowl. It seems like the plate and the cup provide everything I need, while the bowl is a sort of needless third wheel. I usually leave it at home. As I said, cleaning is simple and easy.Storage: Per the recommendation of another comment, I have been storing these folded up in a plastic bag. It has worked for me so far.

A must have for any serious back packer!
I can't say enough good things about this set. I went on a 10 day backpacking trip and just took the bowl. I LOVE that it stores flat (I was able to put it up against the side of my pack) and is light weight! When I was done eating I would open the whole thing up and lick it clean. This made cleanup SUPER easy!CON: There are two cons. First, the plastic is pretty thin which means if you are cooking anything really hot then you need to be careful. Case in point, my son used the cup for hot cocoa but didn't anticipate the heat transferring through the plastic. He ended up dropping the cup and spilling hot water all over himself. So, I don't recommend it for anything extremely hot (i.e., boiling). Second, this is thin plastic. It hasn't happened yet but constantly opening and closing these items will eventually cause them to tear. Honestly, this isn't a huge deal because they are pretty cheap and like I said, I used them multiple times a day for 10 days and they are still in perfect condition.

Great to use but....
I needed something lightweight and something that could easily fit in my pack for a backpacking trip. I read many reviews from this company and other companies and selected this for price and design.I received the item 2 days prior to my trip and selected to use only the small cup for first. Assembly of the small cup was easy but as I tried to unsnap the cup into a flat item, there was some stress in one of the snaps. Meaning there is a certain way you must unsnap the button or it will stress the plastic and or the snap will come off. Good thing I tested this before my actual trip.Packing this item in my backpack was very easily since it's flat you can place it anywhere. Now the real test. First night I used it I placed boiling hot water in the cup, there was a faint smell of plastic , I didn't mind that because the smell went away after the first use. It held its shape very well with the hot water. When I drank from the cup.... that was where the issue occurred. Liquid spilled out from the sides of the cup (the area where you snap the item together to form a cup) and liquid poured on my face. I wasn't expecting that. The only way to remedy the cup from spilling from the side was to place my finger over the folds to protect the liquid from slipping over. I could also have taped the sides but I didn't want to waste my tape for something this simple. Cleanup was easy- so not problem there.Overall, now that I know what to expect from this system, I would still purchase it again. Just be more mindful what I'm using it for.

What magic are these made with???
Oh, you should have HEARD them all. "Those are so going to fall apart." "That's not gonna last." "That looks like a TERRIBLE idea." "That's going to leak all over your lap and you're going to freeze." By the end of our cold weather camping trip though, orders were being placed on Amazon by everyone else in attendance.Size- these are SO lightweight and thin. They just slide in your pack and you don't even know they are there.Functionality- they LOOK like they'll just leak everywhere... it was a legit concern from my fellow campers. But they snapped right together easily and never lost a drop. Unsnap, wipe out, slide back in bag. Crazy!Temp- so I figured our food and drinks would just get super cold right away and I was ready to deal with that. I mean, thin and light weight are the perks here, not insulation. It got down in the 20s when we were camping, so my son and I were just fully prepared for icy coffee and this is where the magic comes in. My coffee, in this thin, weird little blue cup thing, was still warm when I finished it. And the bowls held in enough heat to reconstitute our dehydrated meals.HOW is this possible? It doesn't matter. We love them.
