The group's 4 final 1970's albums + B-sides
This set delivers exactly what it promises: The last four Sweet albums (before the group's original 1980 disbandment) in (thin) cardboard mini-sleeves, plus all related single edits and non-L.P. B-sides, with good mastering and a modest, but informative booklet. The recordings from this period of the group's career were neither bubblegum nor heavy metal, but certainly featured the group's trademark vocal harmonies, albeit in new contexts, including progressive and ballad material, with a more modern production gloss and substantial instrumental sophistication. Unfortunately, the alcoholism-related departure of lead singer Brian Connolly resulted in the group's commercial decline, despite the fact that the other 3 members were all excellent singers. Could this set have delivered more? Yes. The record company should have contacted guitarist Andy Scott, because he could have supplied alternate takes and demos related to these four albums. Yes, those recordings have been offered elsewhere on releases licensed by Andy Scott, but still....

This is an excellent neat little set of Sweets later albums
This is an excellent neat little set of Sweets later albums .I bought it for Level Headed and the sound on this is excellent and much improved. The other albums are excellent also and we have a booklet which is very good. I was not into early Sweet and find the later albums the best but that's just me. Another box set is available if people want the early albums though. I give this set five stars.

Bargain Basement Re-issue featuring cheap, magazine quality CD packaging, big disappointment..
Really disappointed when this cheap re-issue collection arrived as it is the poorest possible re-release and packaging of 4 fabulous Sweet Albums.I Pre-Ordered this box set on the same day that I pre-ordered Sensational Sweet (Chapter One: The Wild Bunch) Box set, which arrived about 2 weeks before this.To give you an idea of the quality of this release, if you get all four of the CD's in their cover with the single CD booklet from this box set and hold them together, they are the same thickness of ONE of the beautiful quality gatefold repackaged cardboard sleeves of the CD's like Desolation Boulevard in the Sony Box set.The CD's in this box are packaged exactly the same as free CD's on the cover of magazines, no spine, just micro thin, which would be fine if it was priced at £5 not £19.99.The current price of this box is the same price per CD as the Sony set.I am a huge Sweet fan and was hoping this would be worthwhile and great packaging but was disappointed with this cheap re-issue.The Music is truly better than you could ever remember and Sweet deserved to continue successfully after Brian Connolly left the band, but it was not to be. Caroline International have decided to make a fast buck, while the fans are still buying Sweets CD's. Poorly executed.
