Heart-Warming and Very Touching!
This story takes place during the worldwide COVID lockdown as is experienced by those in several communities near York, England. It is centered around a bookstore with a sad past, as the original owner died in a fire and left the bookstore to his manager Loveday Carew. The story is told through the use of vignettes - those sharing their own stories of loss during COVID-19, and how the bookshop has been able to provide these characters some much-needed respite during a very difficult time in our world's history. The author did a great job of developing her characters and I liked the use of the vignettes to accomplish this goal. I was touched by all the stories and was suddenly thrust into my memories of lockdown in the U.S.A.This is a very touching book, heart-warming, and well-written. I highly recommend it!

Not what I was expecting but not bad either.
I grabbed this because it was free on Kindle and seemed like a good autumn read. It definitely leaned left at times which I didn’t care for but it was also interesting to walk through the pandemic again, several years removed. Strange that you can forget so much of what you felt in those strange days now that life is mostly back to normal. I loved the characters and the development but most of all loved George and Rosemary’s story. Well, I must have because I shed many tears at the end.

Wow!
What an interesting book. To tell the story of the pandemic from the setting of a book store proves to be a brilliant idea. So many topics are handled in a gentle thoughtful way. This is a book that many people are bound to enjoy.

Absolutely wonderful book!
This is one of the best books that I have read in ages. If you love reading then this is a must! I loved the interweaving of different characters and all of the “prescriptions” for books within the stories. I have recommended this book to several people and so far all of them have loved it. I had no idea it was a sequel and I don’t think it matters if you read this one first. Highly, highly recommend. I found myself up late unable to put it down!

A Very Touching Story
Always having been a big believer in extended families, this group of folks is a good example of the benefit(s) of being part of one. Also a good and relevant Covid tale. Reminds me not to take life for granted and to water and feed my friendships.

A love letter to readers
This is a lovely, cozy little book. It’s perfect with a cup of tea and a biscuit. The story lines are a little bit pat, but it held my attention all the way through. It was also interesting to read about what the pandemic was like across the pond where the response seems to have been much less piecemeal and regional.

AMAZING
This book was absolutely wonderful! I wish I found it straight after covid, or that I had a bookstore like this during the pandemic to get me through. The bookstore family was wonderful, the stories of all the people heartening. I understood everyone's plight during those rough times we endured. This book was so good. I cried, laughed, was angry and happy all within minutes of each other. Thank you to the author!

Marvelous book on how books can "speak" healing into loneliness during forced isolation
A gentle well-written book on the building of life-saving/rescuing relationships through the outreach of a failing bookstore during the covid isolation. I loved it!

How a bookshop "coped" during Covid.
This book is a sequel to "Lost for Words" (EXCELLENT) but can be read separately, as the back story partly unfolds during this story. A superb list of characters, including the girl who inherited the bookshop and her manager, both of whom have personal problems; and customers new and old, some of whom have never willingly read a book before, and others avid bibliophiles. How they all cope with the covid pandemic, lockdown, their family commitments, and this new strange life, is beautifully portrayed. However, the books recommended, each with a synopsis, are a total delight, and testament to the author's literal knowledge. More please, from a huge fan, Judith.

Delightful! Surprising! Worth your read if you love books and remember the pandemic
I enjoyed reading this gem. The intricate plot lines, the pandemic situation, the development of the characters - a great achievement. I love it!!! I plan to read it again after I've read the prequel. By the way, you can find many book recommendations that will keep me going after I manage to pull myself out of this enchanting world.
