The Cuckoo (The UNDER THE NORTHERN SKY Series, Book 3): The dramatic conclusion

An Amazing Trilogy!
It’s really difficult to deal with the ending from my point of view. I felt annoyed that an oik, and real scum bag was left standing at the end of it. I’m not sure what the author was aiming for with how it closed.

Mixed feelings - But overall an excellent read
90% of the book is classic, fast-paced writing from Carew. The whole series is outstanding, and I cannot recommend Northern Sky more.Unfortunately, the ending was rushed and didn’t feel right at all. I wish he could take it back and scratch the ending and do over. A limp end to a bloody class trilogy.

Unique and haunting
It is rare to find a book that you dread reaching the end of. I loved this story so much that I rationed it to make it last longer. A genuinely epic tale with heroes and villains who were never cliched, and a few twists and turns that kept me holding my breath until the end. Don t start with this, it s the last of the trilogy and it s success depends on the brilliant world building of the first 2 books. It s a long time since I ve been so moved and heartsore to reach the end of a story. I can t recommend this series highly enough.

Northern Sky- A Fitting Ending
What a fitting, emotional and thrilling conclusion to the trilogy! Savour the whole thing, the characters, the landscape and the exciting battle scenes especially the last one spread over three wonderful chapters. And the ending, so sad and yet so hopeful. Brilliant.

Stupendous end
Stupendous end to the series. Leo Carew, soon to be on HBO no doubt. The book rollicks along at a great pace like the first two but with more time for description of the Black Kingdom which I personally really like. The atmosphere and scene setting is excellent and Carew brings the series to a fitting end with some novel twists along the way.You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic!
Wow! This is easily one of the best climaxes I’ve ever read to a fantasy series. So sad that Roper did not survive, but totally realistic. I really loved this book, and whole heartedly recommend this series.

Exceptional Satisfying Ending
First off I'm not going to lie I did not like at all at the beginning the direction that the story was going but that's not always a bad thing as it turned out I really grew to love these characters. Every single one of them good and bad. I won't tie up this review explaining the characters. If you've read the first 2 books, you know who these characters are, and you know what Leo the author is going to give you. Another thing I don't think I've read a book or trilogy with the pacing that was so Non-Stop in a really long time and I appreciate the author for staying on the gas pedal with everything from character work to battle scenes,World-building etc he does it all and it's all exceptional. I'm glad and honored to have been able to read and review this book, and it was definitely worth the money can't wait to see what this author shares next

Great trilogy end!...or is it?
Very good ending to the series, a bit long-winded with the battle scenes, but well written none-the-less.

An amazing closure
Reading the first book (The Wolf) took me a year and a half. The second one (The Spider) three months. This one, the ending book, has taken me only a month. And its much longer than the others.A perfect ending, in which everything is as epic, as the conflict has been during the complete saga.I cannot comprehend why this saga is not more popular yet.

Expected ending…just lacking the details.
Overall this was an amazing book to close out the series. As per usual the author did a fantastic job…until the last hundred or so pages.Like a lot of the other reviews will say, the ending felt rushed. It was an expected ending to be frank. These stories, the ones of great warriors and epic battles for the survival of an scientist race, always do.What was lacking was the personal send off. We invested ourselves into the characters and we’re wrapped up in the fight for Albion, and to end the characters epic so lack luster felt a little like getting slapped in the face.OVERALL: Like I said, a good ending and a great book to send us out on. I just wish the author had taken a little more time to make the ending a bit more personal and pluck our heartstrings a little more so as to make us close the book with a sigh of vented emotion.
