The remote has all the features I need and no more broken chains. Install was easy as this was a replacing and old loud fan. Spinning is reversible and creates a gentle and cool breeze. Very pleased with the quality. Trust you found this review honest and helpful:-)

Modern ceiling fan
This 42 inch ceiling fan was easy to install the instructions are easy to follow. I like the dimming feature and that you can't hear the fan running even on the highest settings.

Moves a lot of air
Easy to install, remote works well. Looks better than the old wood looking fans. And moves the air around nicely.

Mediocre at best
The fan is slow to respond. When operating, the fan makes intermittent noises despite everything being tightened and retightened. The light settings switch every time you turn off the lights. For the price, it does a job. It just doesn’t do *the* job Edit: after trying everything I can to get rid of the mystery noise, I’ve decided the best course of action is to buy a decent fan from another company. Edit: I did try one other last ditch effort. After getting some repair advice, I got some 3 in 1 oil for the motor. While it significantly reduced the noises, they still occur. This begs the question, why make a product that requires maintenance less than a year into use. I’m still going to invest in a better fan, needless to say not from this company

When I first opened the package, and picked up the blades, my first thoughts were: "Oh... These blades are really light and made of plastic". And indeed they are, but overall I don't really care, I have yet to care about touching or feeling or looking too-intently at the blades once installed. I don't think anybody could/should care about this. My builder swore at the thing while installing it. A lot of free wiring, and the screws are just barely long enough. They work, but damn, some screws could have been 1/8 inch longer ot would have made a difference in ease of installing them. My biggest surprise/concern was that the fan is installed on an uninterrupted power AC line. While you could, if you wanted to install them on a light switch, it's the whole fan/light assembly that would be affected, and the remote wouldn't work (Because there would be no power to the fan, so the fan could not respond to remote control commands). So instead of a light switch, you now have a remote. We've had to condemn with a little white plate where we used to have the light switch before. The remote itself is fine but has one major quirk I dislike. When you turn off-and-on the light using the button within 7 seconds, the light will change color (I think, 3000k, 4000k, 4500k?). All I ever cared about, and all I will ever care about, is 3000k. I really, really dislike brigher, harsher colors, and I won't ever want to select these colors. But if I press the button for on-and-off-and-on too fast, then the color will change. It would have been such a non-issue to fix on the same remote. Instead of pressing faster, why not press-and-hold the light button to change color? That would have made all the sense, and the difference, in the world for this fan. Overall I am quite happy with the fan. It's light, quite, has a sharp design and is low profile to my ceiling which I like. Beyond a remote, I would have liked to have another controller, something maybe that can screw in place of the old light switch, even if it's battery operated, with the set of buttons. In other words, another, non-removable device, near the door, and then I could just have the hand remote on my night table.... The other concern I have is, if we ever lose the remote, we're SOL. I'm not sure it's possible to have another, backup remote?
