The Opening Lens Cap
Does exactly what is says - Power on and the camera (in my case a Ricoh Caplio GX100) is ready for action. Because the Ricoh LC-1 is always attached to the end of the lens, I no longer have to worry about trying to find a missing lens cap...Great idea; so why didn't I think of it?

Ideal to replace the LX3 lens cap
With a bit of care this lens can be squished onto the LX3. With a little bit of foam tape on the insides, the LX3 extend/retract action of the lens will open and close this lens cap. Much handier than the standard lens cap. Worked a treat for me.

Possible to use with DMCLX3 with mods
This is a great way to replace a lens cap and I am sure it is perfect for Ricoh cameras. I have bought this for my Panasonic DMC LX3 after seeing it had been modded to fit by other users. Whilst it takes a bit of work and requires both brute force to fit and access to some black plastic and superglue to work well, it is the only way I have found to get rid of the lens cap and once complete it works excellently.

Five Stars
Ingenious solution for protecting collapsing lenses - cap opening as lens extends to its working position.

Essential accesory for the GX100
A must have for the GX100 owner. Being able to get rid of the tethered separate lens cap, while still protecting the lens, transforms the usability of the camera.

Open - close with the touch of a button!
I love this little lens cap. If you like carrying your camera where ever you go because you just don't know where your going to get that perfect opportunity then this is the product of you! Fits on in a matter of seconds and then your good to go. I keep it on at all times when not using wider lens or my tripod. Two things i'll have to point out about this cap which you won't realise at first glance is that when fitted on the GX200 it will not open when attached to a tripod as part of the cap (one of the rectangular parts that connects the individual thirds of the retracting cap) slightly lips over the perfect flat underside of the camera. Basically take it from me it won't work and screwing it to the tripod too tightly might actually damage the cap.Secondly the cap has three gaps (where the thirds connect.) Each gap is around 1mm thick and so dust could probably reach your lens. Personally i think there should have put maybe a thin strip of rubber along those edges of even a lining of soft bristles.Baring these two things is mind you get what you pay for and if you look the cap up on you-tube your can see it fits many other cameras with just a few minor alterations.

I should've bought one of these years ago
I should've bought one of these years ago, when I bought my camera. The gaps between the barn doors really are about 1mm wide, so dust is bound to get in. Prevents scratches and fingerprints, though. Good stuff.

The best camera upgrade ever (for Ricoh GX100)
If you are using the old fashioned cap hanging on a thread, type of lens cap - get this. Is such a nice improvement, much quicker to use and cool. Its not 100% dust proof so you'll need to clean the lens once in a while, but its a brilliant upgrade and well worth getting.
