Will this new charger work on any version? we purchased this for are cat over a year ago, but just recently lost the charger.

This new charger works with the Tractive GPS DOG 4 and CAT 4 trackers, yes. So if you bought the cat tracker, you can use this new charger with the CAT 4 tracker too :)

Do you charge this then put it on the collar or use it hooked up to the charger on the collar?

That's the charging mechanism. So clip that onto the tracker until it's charged, then take it off and put the tracker on the collar.

Is this to use instead of charging cord that came with tracker? That is so short it needs to be right next to outlet. I charge this then clip on Trac

This is the new charging design, yes. The feedback we received from customers was that the initial charging design was not particularly intuitive or user friendly, and this new design should help resolve that problem. The new charger is delivered with a charging cord and we recommend you use this charging cord when charging the tracker. Great Charger!

When I first received this replacement dog tracker, it didn’t work. I contacted customer service, and they promptly sent me another one. The new tracker worked flawlessly! Excellent customer service and a great product.

It's worked great!

When I lost the original tracker I panicked because I've so enjoyed having my Tractive on my dog - it gives me a lot of peace of mind, even though I hope I never actually need to use it! But this charger has worked perfectly and I actually like it better than the original. The tracker snaps into place without even having to be removed from my dogs collar. When I recharge it, I just take her collar off and plug it in, no issues.

Better than the original

This charger is a game changer. Better than the short corded cable that the tracker came with. It's easy to place the tracker in a cradle connector and immediately lights up to let you know it's working. It charges fast so you can get your pet's tracker back on and let them safely out to explore. I highly recommend it.

Connects very well.

Day one, and this charger is fantastic compared to the original one. I think Tractive should have offered all owners a free one of these given how badly designed the original charger was.Nonetheless, I am glad to finally have a charger that fits my cat's tracker well and doesn't detach at the slightest movement. The cable is still too short, but it's more flexible than the original.I hope it lasts well.

Buy This One for the Tractive DOG 4/LTE

This charger is so far superior to the one that came with the tracker, I can't believe it took me so long to discover that there is an alternative. If you have the Tractive Dog 4/LTE, this is the charger you need. I bought two so I could leave one in our RV (the dogs are why we even need an RV), and one in the kitchen where we sit with coffee in the morning and notice on our phones that the tracker needs a charge. The tracker clips in securely, and it's not possible to put it in wrong, by the way. Any regular USB-C will fit into the charging port. I really like this upgrade!
