Origin8 Pro-Fit Seat Clamp

It is a seat clamp, it clamps your seat down. If you're reading this review it works and is well machined. Buy it because it is cheap. It hasn't broken on me and I've used it on a gravel bike for over 300 miles of moderate single track and dirt roads. Spend more money if you need to impress your friends, if that is the case you need to spend at least 50 bucks on a seat post clamp in an awesome color that matches your bottom brackets ball bearings. Also if that is the case you need to get some socks that match the color of your taint. Or you might just stop caring what your buddy thinks stop consuming more overpriced stuff (which doesn't correlate to better made) and just go out and ride because nobody cares what your bike looks like. I don't care, I don't care about what my bikes look like so long as they ride well.

There are definitely more elaborate seat clamps out there, but I was looking for simple and inexpensive and this one fit the bill. Seems to clamp well and looks very clean on my bike. I like that it's small and doesn't have an obvious logo. Using it on my 2010 Rocky Mountain Fusion to replace the stock quick release for added security, since I do sometimes leave the bike locked up in public and don't want my nice saddle to go missing.

Got this to replace a quick release seat clamp. This works great and makes it much less likely that my seat will be stolen by and opportunistic thief. However, I took off one star because the pictured clamp is all black, but the one I received have a small white logo on the front of the clamp. Not a big deal, but the item should match the picture.

With our bike's original quick-release clamp, the seatpost used to sloooowly slip 1-2 cm while riding, requiring us to stop and jack the seat back up to the right height, sometimes four or five times a ride. That clamp used a plastic wedge as one of its parts and could not maintain enough pressure to keep the seat from creeping down over the miles, no matter how hard I squeezed it. I replaced it with this Origin8 clamp and all of those problems disappeared. I carried an allen wrench to tweak the height for the first couple of rides and then I left it alone. Problem solved for under ten bucks and under ten minutes. Bonus points: it looks really nice and classes up the old bike a bit.

A really sturdy little clamp. Bolt is pre-greased, fit perfectly without any extra play, tightens and loosens like a champ. Doesn't feel brittle, and doesn't have any sharp edges. Excellent value, I can't imagine anything else you'd need in a basic clamp.

I have built 2 bikes recently and both needed new seat post clamps. I bought this for the first one and it worked great. Second bike I was not sure but bought it hoping it would do the job. It held the post in place, no issues. Buy this clamp! It works. The only thing that would make it better is if it came in different colors.

No surprises- fits up and tightens without any trouble. This part replaces a thinner clamp that cracked and failed. This new clamp seems to be better.

Not a very good design but does hold the seatpost well. The clamp itself is threaded instead of having a threaded cylindrical insert made of a stronger metal like better quality clamps have. I also had to really pry this thing open to get it on my bike's frame. Once on it looks slick. Much better than those big quick release clamps.
