No instructions with it, torch or heated key shape element for frozen locks, tried it on three separate occasions when my car was frosted over. Light tells you if batteries (two double AA, not supplied) are connected. Just push the key out (on slider) to fullest extent and this activates heating mechanism. Wait for it to get hot. Work with lock to you can insert it all the way and finally turn the key

I returned the item and I am still waiting for a refund. The lock key didn't get warm and the torch didn't work

This actually does work. It does actually unfreeze frozen car locks. Prevents embarrassment at petrol stations when you petrol tank lockable cover is frozen shut. Well worth the money.

Broke beyond repair on the very first use....total rubbish!

bought this for my dad and he has used it couple times this winter heats up quickly and he is very pleased

Not the most robust product, but it was cheap and you get what you pay for...hopefully it will work if needed this winter.
