I wanted this for my land yacht, as the area of stainless steel where you put your feet is smooth and slippery. This comes in quite a stiff roll and is a little hard to cut, requiring good scissors or a sharp blade. It needs a stencil drawing as doesn't fold to cut to size in position so has to be cut before fitting.The material itself is quite thick and feels durable and hard wearing. I'm not too sure about the adhesive though as it didn't stick so well all around the base plate, probably because there are screws protruding from it. I suspect as dirt, sand and moisture get under the foam it will probably need re-sticking, perhaps with contact adhesive.It does look a good improvement over the bare steel, even with my uneven cutting, and feels a lot more comfortable on the feet, so I will see how it goes over the coming months of sailing. The roll is sufficient for six or seven pairs of base plates, so I'll have plenty of opportunity to replace the foam if required.

This is a sticky-backed vinyl floor covering with an embossed design to reduce how slippery it is to walk on. The thick, raised diamonds are grey while the sunken lines between them are white. This is designed to give a reliable surface to walk on in wet environments such as decking or boats, although it can also be used elsewhere, such as kitchen or bathroom flooring. We're going to use it in the attic eaves.

Full disclosure - I don't own a boat, or a yacht.I used this to put down in my utility, as my older dog kept slipping on the laminate floor every time he wanted to rush out to swear at the postman.It looks super smart, I can hoover and mop it, comes up great. It was really easy to put down and hasn't moved, despite 2 German Shepherds galloping across it a thousand times a day.It's not cheap but I think you will get what you pay for in this case.Definitely recommend for less glamorous uses than boats and yachts too!

I got this for my campervan thinking it would be great as flooring. But it would be more suited for boating as the diamonds are really stiff material, really non slipery as its so solid. So i am now using this on my step into the camper (as I haven't got a boat lol).

The media could not be loaded.  An excellent non-slip material which is relatively easy to work with. Rigid enough to provide a thick effective non-slip surface yet flexible and compliant so as to be comfortable underfoot. It is delivered tightly rolled in a cardboard box so at first it is quite difficult to lay out flat before cutting and sticking down, but if you lay it down in a warm room with weights on each end it straightens out nicely after a day or two. The self-adhesive backing seems strong and should hold firmly provided the surface is thoroughly dry and clean before fixing. This is an attractive, durable, quality material which should endure the elements and have a long service life.
