O’food Tteokbokki Variety Pack, Pack of 5, Instant Korean Rice Cakes, Authentic Spicy Street Food, Ready to Eat, No MSG, No Corn Syrup

Sooo good! This is one of my go-to guilty pleasure foods. It's quick and easy to make. And you can make them so many different ways, not just the way the instructions say. I like mine just a little crunchy!

UPDATE 2: The garlic flavor was decent. Sweeter than I expected. UPDATE: The sweet chili flavor 100% redeems the awful Rosé flavor. Sweet yet savory, just a hint of heat on the back end *channels Food Network* highly recommend. Realizing this is a flavor review. But product-wise? They're satisfyingly squishy when cooked, easy to prepare. I anticipated the Rose to be at least a little spicy, but it was mostly just grossly sweet. I have not tried the other flavors, and I'm pretty sad this is the one I opened first, I couldn't stomach more than a couple bites, it even smells too sweet.. The instructions were simple, so I don't think I did anything wrong. I hope the rest are at least a little better. Hopefully I'll be able to update the review.

Be careful if you are ordering the variety pack because it says gluten-free. The barbecue flavor is not gluten free. That said, the other flavors are gluten and dairy-free! It's so nice to find convenience foods that are free of those allergies! Spicy, Chewy and yummy! If you are a spice wuss like me, try the Rose. It's the least spicy. The value on these is incredible...10 servings total, 2 per bag.

My daughter purchased this sampler pack because she enjoys Asian snacks and street food, and so far, she has tried 3 of the 5 flavors. The garlic tteokbokki has been her favorite so far, because it has a nice amount of heat and garlic without being overwhelming. The sweet chili wasn't anything to write home about, but it was enjoyable without being cloyingly sweet. Sadly, the same could not be said for the rosé flavor. It was strangely, overbearingly sweet, to the point where my daughter could only take a few bites before throwing it in the garbage. She has not tried the barbecue or original flavors yet, though both look far better than the rosé flavor. While it does provide a variety of flavors, I will admit that it is slightly overpriced for what it is. All in all, it's nothing to write home about, but if you're craving tteokbokki, it will work in a pinch.

I really liked the taste of these. Just beside to add 1/2 water to soften the rice cakes.

I absolutely love this multi pack except for two things. Every flavor is amazing except the rose. It's also the only powdered flavor and it tastes just like chemicals? Idk what it's supposed to taste like but it doesn't taste like an Italian riff of the sauce. It's inedible. Texture is perfect. The original and garlic are my favorite flavors. The barbeque tastes exactly like the bulgogi sauce at our favorite Korean barbecue place! I wish I could buy multi packs of one flavor. The cost has gone up from 20 to 30 dollars for this multipack and that's just too much for how little you get.

Being that it's one of my favorite Korean dishes, I greedily bought the variety pack, cuz what could go wrong right? I think I tried the original first. As soon as it came out the pouch, I knew I made a mistake. The calorie amount is very high for such a small size, they felt like plastic, and smelled like chemicals. It just wouldn't cook properly with the sauce and there was no fragrance. Even after boiling for like 15min, it just never mixed well, the rice cakes stayed white and eventually just stuck to the pan. I scraped what I could, but it still seemed undercooked. I tried a few flavorless pieces, like 6, then threw the rest away. I'm not even sure I want to donate these bags of toxins to someone else. Money spent to learn a lesson: buy fresh from a restaurant instead, they always do it right.
