Well constructed pouch
This feels like a well constructed pouch. The zippers in the 2 compartments seem sturdy. The book in the photo is a hardcover. The book measures 9 1/8in wide x12in long x 1 1/8 thickThe book fit in the main compartment with room to stuff other more narrow objects. So depending on what you want to protect, this pouch will hold quite a few documents, photos or cash..The reason I give it 4 stars is because I figure it would earn 5 stars by saving what precious documents I had stuffed in it from fire or flood. I hope that never happens, but I will trust this pouch to do just that.

Not Waterproof
Just as there is a difference between the term fireproof and fire resistant, there is a difference between the term waterproof and the term water resistant. On the face of this document bag you see that all terms are used. I tested whether or not this bag is waterproof. It is not. I sealed paper inside both pockets and dropped the bag into a few inches of water in my bathtub. 15 minutes later I lifted the bag out of the tub and water poured out of the top. The papers in both pockets were soaked. I did not test whether or not the bag is fireproof. Having failed one test, I did not bother to try the second test. I will probably find use for this bag for storing documents I plan to carry inside a backpack or travel bag but I would not trust this bag to store essential documents in a place that would ever be exposed to fire or flooding.
