Working perfectly
I only wish they were half the size to make them easier to use in small pots, but sadly it seems no one does. You can always cut them in half of course.Anyway, they work perfectly, catching those annoying little black flies that like to live on the soil. I wish I'd known of these years ago.

Plant flies yes fruit flies no
Bought these for my peace lily plants which after repotting came down with black flies.Did not work whatsoever on fruit flies try the little jar you can buy for those as that’s amazing but these did not catch a single fruit fly.Work fantastic in plants though very simple to use and straight away you can see the plant flies getting stuck on them instead of on the soil and on the plants

Early days but seems excellent!
I have recently placed some trays of plants indoors in various rooms with basic compost. Since then plagued with tiny compost gnats that seem to head right for your nose! Very annoying to say the least.Tried repellent wrist bands which don't work contrary to some reviews that say they do.These insect sticky traps arrived by GPO post today as opposed to usual Amazon van. Took 3 days but that was as advertised so fine there.Added several of the traps to the trays and they began to work immediately! Not long enough to see whether these will control the gnat population and protect our noses but a very encouraging start.A tip for deploying them: Peel up the sticky covering on each side almost to the top and fold back a bit so it doesn't flop down a bit and re-stick. This will enable you to grip the top of the trap and push it down into the compost/soil without your fingers getting stuck to the stick. When in place just peel off the covering and job done.Probably a better design for these would be to leave a little finger and thumb area at the top which is not sticky for gripping and inserting when covering completely removed.

Works best alongside other methods
Incredibly cheap and very sticky. Spikes thin so need to make hole in soil first and leave paper covering on as so sticky will stick to fingers, plant leaves etc. Found didn't really attract fungus knats but they stuck when they flew near them. Sorted problem with these and a spray insecticide. Didn't look as ugly as some.

Did the job!
When the ACV didn’t work (only 4 fruit flies in it) but next to it I put one of these bad boys in the soil of infected plant, within a few hours, there were around 20 fruit flies stuck to it! So far, I’ve used 4 of these around the plant and they’ve been filled BOTH SIDES with fruit flies, I just change them when full and dispose. Brilliant item and highly recommend these.

Fruitless used on fruit flies.
Had great hopes for these but sadly fruit flies are not interested in them at all. They don’t go near them.In the end, I tied one of the sticky traps onto an old fashioned fly swat with sticky tape and used that instead. It meant that when I hit a fly, it picked it up instantly, saving some cleaning up. But I don’t think that’s how they are supposed to work, and it required a lot of effort from me.
