Battery-Guard Bluetooth voltage display for starter batteries.

Purchased this device to keep a watch on a car that is not used all the time during the winter months. Easy to attached to car battery and after downloading the app from the App Store and turning on the iPhones bluetooth it would not connect to the device despite showing in Bluetooth Devices on the phone. Deleted the app on the iPhone and downloaded again from the store, this time the device paired with the phone and gave a reading straight away. If you do purchase this device I would recommend attaching to the car/bike battery first then download the app to connect to the device. The instructions with the device are in English, the app is also in English but some prompts still appear to be in German eg when changing setting re naming the battery. To check the status of the battery I now only need to open the app when close to the car, let the device connect via Bluetooth and get a reading on the voltage, the app will also show when the battery will need charging or car needs to go for a long run on a nice dry winters day.

As always you can't assess how long something will last when you've just bought it, but initial impression is of a robust, well designed product with very good software. I bought it to monitor the battery state of a Hyundai Kona EV. Hyundai EVs are known for problems with their old-tech 12V batteries, namely not being charged by the traction battery and leaving the vehicle dead. This unit's app has a 'trips' feature designed for ICE cars that records when the engine was running. On my car it shows when the battery is charged, typically for 20 minutes every few hours, as well as the state of charge (SoC). Bluetooth connection is good enough to work when I'm in the house and the car is just outside.

Have seen an endless sea of Chinese 'no name' products but all looking similar, with names such as 'BL2' some of which seem to feature (legit?) homologation marks, some not. This however looks and feels like a legitimate item and the fact the app seems Taiwanese origin, not Chinese, is encouraging. It also doesn't ask for personal details (but does ask for GPS to be turned on). The wires also seem good quality, some of the others looked like bits of cheap speaker wire. The units look and feel solid. I have bought one for a caravan, and one for my car. It is a bit annoying that this seems squarely aimed at 'cars' and there is no simple config to, for example, turn off 'trips' and 'cranking' logging for a static battery. But the voltage data seems accurate as is the charging detection. Lets hope it lasts long-term!

Seems to be quite accurate, not bang on, but to a -00.2 Which is close enough. Works perfectly. Nice to view the voltage of your battery, without taking panels off To check with a multimeter. Good pice of kit for the price. Its like having your battery's health in your pocket.

Easy to fit , down load the required App and it connects to show battery charge voltage which is accurate tested with my multi meter you can edit the name if you intend purchase more than one ie Leisure and Cab battery the app will read multiple battery per each monitor I recommend keeping the factory descriptions and adding your ID in front ,each time you check the voltage it is recorded to the calendar which is a bonus Bluetooth range could be better this my only criticism

Bluetooth reach is good - I was on the first floor of my house and my iphone could connect to the car in my driveway. Very easy to install, good connectors. However, the alternator didnt charge the battery to the full 14.7V when the device was connected (only 12-13V), nor did the tests in the app work with the device saying the engine wasnt started (even though it was)... so I would say this is risky to use as it is more likely to drain your battery than be useful.

Easy to use, simple to install (just + and - wires) works very well. Got it on a defender that sits from time to time, allows me to monitor the resting battery level from outside the vehicle without unlocking the doors and energising the ECU.

Cheap, Easy to install, and gives an indication as to when you need to seat before the battery dies. I have one on a 24v truck, my car and a 6v lawnmower- all from one app.

Acquistati per le due auto di famiglia, configurazione e installazione è stata questione di minuti. Funziona come descritto. Entrambi i monitor in unica app sul mio iPhone. Non ho provato ad associarli anche al cellulare della moglie, ma penso non ci sia problema ad usare lo stesso codice del monitor su più telefoni.

Wegens problemen met de 12 V batterij in mijn Jaguar I-pace deze battery guard geïnstalleerd. Fluitje van een cent. Aanvankelijk geen bluetooth connectie met mijn Iphone. Uiteindelijk bleek ik het serienummer niet goed in de app gekopieerd ( 0 ipv een D). Gelukkig had ik tevoren een foto van het serienummer gemaakt en hoefde ik niets te demonteren. De battery-guard verbindt nu op 10 meter van de auto zonder problemen en geeft de spanning en het laadverloop in de tijd nauwkeurig aan. Nu geen problemen, ben benieuwd hoe het in de winter gaat. Prima apparaatje als je geïnteresseerd bent in de toestand van de accu/dynamo en spanningsregelaar van je auto of motorfiets. Ook geschikt om de toestand van de accu van tuingereedschap in de winter in de gaten te houden. In de app kunnen 4 battery guards gemonitord worden. Het eigen verbruik is verwaarloosbaar. Geschikt voor lood en lithium accu’s. Aanbevolen!

Este producto es excelente. Funciona muy bien y además la aplicación que trae es muy muy buena. Merece mucho la pena. La app funciona perfectamente en las típicas radios chinas con Android y te permite hasta realizar test de carga del alternador. Por el precio que tiene es un producto de 9 estrellas. IntAct es una marca de baterías alemana...y se nota muchísimo.

Urządzenie jest bez zarzutu i zgodne z opisem. Działa prawidłowo. Obawiałem się tylko poboru prądu. Deklarowany pobór prądu bez Bluetooth 0,534mA - zmierzony 0,6mA, deklarowany pobór prądu z Bluetooth 1,7mA - zmierzony 1,55mA. Wynik doskonały. Sparowanie urządzenia ze smartfonem bez najmniejszych problemów. Aplikacja czytelna i intuicyjna. Urządzenie zapisuje we własnej pamięci wartości napięcia, temperatury i SoC i po ponownym podłączeniu do telefonu pobiera dane i są już cały czas dostępne.
