The arancini you make with this model are a little larger than the largest hen egg you can encounter. To give you a sense of how much rice to prepare, one pound of uncooked rice will yield enough rice for about 10-12 arancini, depending on how much stuffing you insert. After two or three, you get the knack and it's fast and easy to make a batch. Personally I don't deep-fry them. I bread them, lay them on a cooking plate, spray them with olive oil and bake them for 45-60 minutes at 350°. Don't be afraid to overcook the rice a bit so that it will be pastier and therefore less likely to fall apart once formed and removed from the arancinotto.

When you make Sicilian "arancine" from scratch, you run the risk of under/over filling the sphere. or misshapen/ uneven rice. This device makes it foolproof. Perfectly round, fast to fill, and the amount of filling is perfect. Frankly, I expected something to be off. NO. I bought this on a lark, and I am SO glad I did. This is an excellent product. The recipes online are also perfect. The only warning I have is to not tamp down with too much pressure on the topping rice.

I like to make a mushroom risotto and fill with mozz and canalized onions. I cannot imagine making these the old fashioned way...

I'm Italian and I love arancini. When I visited Sicily a few years ago, this specialty was the first thing I had when I landed at the airport in Catania and the last thing I ate before I left (besides, visit Sicily if you have the chance, it's beautiful!) Arancini can be laborious to make at home, but this little gadget makes preparing them fun and easy. You will not need to weigh the rice in order to have the same shape, with the Arancinotto you'll have the same shape over and over again. A big plus is that it is also very easy to clean. I'm going to buy the Arancinotto to make pointed-shaped arancini. As for the app, I haven't downloaded it yet, I'll update this review as soon as I do.

I had not made arancine since I teenager(50 years ago!) & they broke apart as I was frying them. Now, thanks to the Arancinotto I can replicate this Sicilian delicacy that I grew up eating! Not only did I get them in all sizes & shapes - I am also going to give them as gifts to my gourmet friends.

Ho seguito alla lettera la ricetta proposta per l'arancino classico, in particolare per quanto riguarda la preparazione del riso. Ricetta e procedimento sono scritti in un foglietto contenuto nella confezione. Formare l'arancino è semplicissimo e intuitivo, basta replicare quanto spiegato nel foglietto (è utile vedere prima anche il video) e in pochi secondi si forma l'arancino perfetto, compattato alla perfezione e con la giusta quantità di ripieno, senza sporcare praticamente nulla, se non un cucchiaino per il riso e uno per il ragù. L'arancino si estrae dallo stampo senza neanche doverlo ungere in precedenza. Inoltre lo stampo è molto facile da pulire. Con 250 grammi di riso (peso da crudo) ho ottenuto 6 arancini a punta da 160 g. Consiglio di contattare il produttore come indicato nel sito ufficiale di "Arancinotto" per avere accesso alle ricette riservate ai clienti. Sono tutte molto interessanti! ---------------------------------- Aggiorno la recensione confermando le 5 stelle, perché ho acquistato uno stampo rotondo da 80 g per un regalo. Lo stampo è perfetto, la confezione impeccabile e include istruzioni e ricetta. Date le dimensioni, penso che questo formato sia perfetto per aperitivi e buffet. Lo consiglio come idea regalo: secondo me è molto originale e si fa un figurone, perché il marchio è di ottima qualità e non si smente neanche stavolta. Inoltre è uno stampo resistente, che dura nel tempo. Il mio a punta, infatti, l'ho usato e strausato per più di due anni ormai ed è ancora come nuovo, lo adoro veramente e adoro anche tutte le ricette che propone il sito del produttore, sono ottime per cene in compagnia e tutte quelle che ho provato si sono rivelate un successo! 5 meritatissime stelle anche alla gentilezza e disponibilità del produttore!
