The Borrowers - Series 2 [DVD]

A delightful family friendly DVD, I am enjoyed watching it with my children when 1st broadcast and am enjoying it with youngest grandchildren now.

I live in North America and I guess I am not up on DVD formats because I didn't realize I wouldn't be able to watch this on my TV. So I had to watch it on my computer which was more than a bit annoying. The stories were exactly as I remembered them and was very happy with the content itself. My 4 & 5 year old grandsons watched the first episode with me and loved it. So it still appeals to children today. My daughter & I decided to dig out the books and start reading them to the boys. She likes to read chapter books to them at bedtime.

This is the series 2 DVD. We love, love, love this BBC series- another one I watched as a kid and now get to share with mine. We've been watching one episode every Sunday tea time and we are all thoroughly enjoying it. The characters have been perfectly cast :)

My 7 year old grandaughter loved it! It is in episodes and the graphics are dated but the story and the characters captured her imagination in a way the film never did.

Purchased this series after spotting it whilst browsing for ideas for gifts for my 14yr old son's birthday. Made me smile when I saw it as brought back great memories of watching this myself. Wasn't sure if my son would appreciate it at his age but decided to take the chance & order... He loved it.. Clothes, props, storyline, everything about it is just so cute & wonderful. Happy :)

This is as good as one and if you have watched one your need two

After watching the first series I was apprehensive and did wonder whether the second series would capture my attention as much. I didn't need to worry. It was equally as good and the sad thing was that there wasn't a third series to watch! I absolutely loved this series. A series I loved as a child and love equally as much as an adult.

Bought for my Granddaughter who was reluctant to read the book. We have thoroughly enjoyed this dvd and I am sure it will be watched several times.

Great value and video. An escape from reality.

Read this to your kids first. They'll LOVE the movie. Ian Holmes is wonderful in this.

I remembered watching this broadcast originally on PBS when I was little and was so happy to find it on DVD. I never watched the American produced version of the Borrowers but had fond memories of the BBC version. Never realized it was in two parts lol. Since this is only available (as far as I could find) in Region 2 and 4 format I knew that I'd need a work around. I purchased an inexpensive external DVD drive: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MJW5BXZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and once I plugged it into my computer I was able to go in the settings/properties and change the region code for the player. *NOTE* this can only be done 4 times before you will be locked out and whatever setting you last used will be the permanent setting. So I chose to sacrifice this particular DVD player and plan to only use it to view Region 2 DVDs *END NOTE* Once I did this I was able to play this Region 2 DVD no problem with my external DVD drive on my computer using VLC. And it's just as I remember. SO happy to have this in my collection.

Timeless classic I love it! It does not play on my xbox due to reason but it plays on my computer!!! The quality other reviewers complain about is rubbish. Remember this was made long before all this high tech special effects and blue rays hd crap. If you want to see a true classic the same as it was when I was a child watching this on VHS and if you enjoy BBC than this is perfect for you :) the seller was great it came in perfect condition and in time I have no complaints at all!
