Wonderful tool! (But see updates 6/8/25 and 6/9/25, as well as 6/10/25)
Update 6/8/2025: The chain tensioning knob broke! It had actually broken last year, but I was still able to work it with pliers; but now itโs more broken and I canโt even make it work with pliers. Bummer! I love this tool! But the tensioning knob is plastic, and not well made enough to resist the force required to tension the chain correctly. Iโm not sure if I will buy another saw; perhaps, knowing this weakness, Iโd be able to avoid it breaking again? Incredibly useful tool! Lightweight, easy to use, cuts quickly through any vegetation up to 2 inches, can take down trees up to 5 or 6 inches. Get a couple of batteries, the larger capacity ones, and extra cutting chain, be sure you have the right size file for sharpening, and for tree trimming, brush clearance, and a million cutting chores, itโs fantastic! The only drawback is that there is not automated chain oiling mechanism, so you have to carry a small bottle of chain oil (provided) and oil the chain fairly frequently. Also, the plastic handle for the chain tightening knob broke, so I have to use pliers to turn it now. Be careful with the knob, knowing itโs a bit flimsy. But overall, an incredibly useful tool! So, a further update: I searched the Greenworks site for replacement parts: None available online. So, I can customer service. I sit on the phone for 2 HOURS!!! No answer; and no other way of contacting them. No email. Of course the Chatbot is useless. Now Iโm annoyed, and would bring my rating down, except for the fact that the tool itself is incredibly useful. 3rd update, 6/10/25: Allโs well that ends well! Today I called customer service again. After a long timeโmaybe 45 minutes (with my phone on speaker, doing other tasks) I FINALLY got through to a person! She told me โitโs our busy seasonโโright, got it! So I explained my issue; and, long story short, they are sending me a replacement saw!!! 3-year limited warranty covering defects in workmanshipโwhich I would say this was. They donโt even want me to send back the broken saw. Needless to say, I am very happy with this. And, I will be careful when tensioning the chain.

Performs just as I hoped it would!
I'm in my 60's and not up to full speed, so I needed a saw to do the work for me. After searching the net for days, reading reviews and watching videos, for a battery operated mini chain saw, I came to the Greenworks web page. To me, their mini chain saw just seemed sturdier, more efficient, than the others I saw on line. I purchased it through Amazon and received it within days. I also ordered an extra battery and chain for backup. So far I have used the saw two days, cutting down and slicing up 5 small trees, the largest being 3 inches around. The mini chain saw performs just as i hoped it would! It is sturdy. easy to manage, and goes through wood easily while applying steady even pressure, no force needed. I'm glad I took my time searching for this gem. The only things I did and do not like is that nowhere, in anyone's video that I was able to find, do they show you how much bar oil you have to apply at one time, or where exactly on the chain and bar you have to apply it. The chain saw come with a small 50ml bottle of bar and chain oil and instruction say to oil it every 5 to 10 cuts. There are saws out there that self oil but I liked the look of this one. I will have to purchase more oil. The other thing I do not like, you need a magnifying glass to read the instructions, you really do, really. Even if you have 20/20 vision I think you would have a hard time.

Great product
excellent product, easy to use, cuts well, design is good, battery life is really good too. Fit is good too. A small adult would be able to handle it.

Good solid little saw,
Like all the Greenworks tools that I have and use, So far so good! Nice compact design, light enough to hold and use with one hand while trimming trees. I did a lot of cutting over a couple hours timeline on one full battery charge. I own multiple 24V tools from Greenworks, so I have interchangeable battery backup.

I Should've Bought This Years Ago - Makes Cutting Thicker Branches a BREEZE
Of the many gardening purchases I've made over the years, the Greenworks 24V 6" Brushless Mini Chainsaw is one of the items I wish I had invested in sooner. The chainsaw is easy to operate, runs on a single charge for much longer than I need to cut tree branches with, and it's highly effective at cutting through branches cleanly. The set comes with everything you need to get started, including the chainsaw, a battery, a battery charger, and a storage bag. It doesn't take very long to charge the unit, and once fully charged, I was able to prune several trees without having to take a break. The handheld chainsaw is much lighter and easier to handle than the large corded chainsaw that I used to use, and I was able to operate it while perched on a ladder without worrying that I would accidentally drop it or injure myself. The unit does not heat up while in use, features safety mechanisms to prevent accidental start-up, and is compact enough for even me to use for extended periods without getting tired. It's a garden tool I should have bought years ago, and something that I find myself now using every winter season when I need to prune the trees and ready them for spring.

Excellent for pruning.
I've looked at these hand held chainsaws for a while but didn't think they would work well. Watched a bunch of videos on YouTube and figured I take a shot at it. Really works well for pruning small branches or cutting out nuisance bushes or saplings. I have to remind myself that it is a real chainsaw and be safe while using it. I'm not going to clear cut 40 acres with it but it's much quicker than a bow saw or loppers. The only drawback is there's no automatic oiler. I figure it was eliminated to keep the compact design. It's easy enough to use the included squit bottle to oil the chain every so often. I'm happy with the product so far.

Great little saw!
I love my little saw. We have some "killer" vines that have roots like tree trunks - this makes it so much easier to attempt to remove them!
