Great for Whelping Dogs
cheaper than normal brand liquid calcium, seems to be working for my dog who has puppies. 1 bottle lasted just under 2 weeks, so would advise 2 bottles to last until puppies start weaning (based on size of miniature dachshund).

disgusting taste
although i’m mmm sure the calcium does exactly what it should the taste is so disgusting that my dog spat it out there’s no way you can discguise it in food etc as it tastes like chemicals ( yes i tried it myself ) but im sure the product itself does what it says on the bottle shame they can’t put something in it to make it more palatable there’s no way my dog would eat it on top of food!

DANGER - DO NOT BUY THIS FOR WHELPING or LACTATING DOGS
DANGER - DO NOT BUY THIS FOR WHELPING or LACTATING DOGSI bought this as it sounded like the right product for our dog during labour and whelping. When I checked the label it told me to give 1ml per kg of body weight. I wanted to know how much calcium that would provide as it does not say on the bottle which is weird so I called the manufacturer directly. The call was answered by someone stating their name. I asked for the company name to confirm I was speaking to right firm (PetWiz). When that was satisfied I asked if she could tell me how much calcium was in 1ml of the product - she put me on hold for a long time then said “you need to give 1ml per kg of body weight. I explained I already knew that and I needed to know the calcium content per 1ml of product. She put me on hold for even longer and eventually came back to say it was only 0.01mg per 1ml dose. I was so shocked I actually said that’s practically nothing I’m sure we get more than that from drinking water! What a complete waste of money. The type of calcium in this product is calcium gluconate. It is the lowest form of calcium and actually provides very little. It is mostly glucose which won’t help a whelping mother much and certainly won’t sustain levels of calcium for a lactating dog post delivery. Don’t be fooled by their false advertising - buying and using this product could actually kill your dog from hypocalcemia which is a fatal condition that comes on rapidly and has to be treated extremely fast. Look for a better product as this is a money making company that really doesn’t give a hoot what happens to the end user of their products. There are guides on the internet advising what type you need to buy and how much if you google it.I will be asking Amazon for my money back as it is described in the listing as suitable for whelping bitches and it clearly isn’t.
