Great product, Pros and Cons and how to deal.
Ok, so I got the blue. I love this blue! This is even better than the last brand I used, and that one was great too! It's so vibrant and rich and easy to use and oh boy does it last! I tried to buy this from my local nationwide beauty supply chain professional salon store division. but they said nope, licensed cosmetologists only! So I was like fine! I'll go order it on Amazon... FROM YOUR PARKING LOT! BOOM! Next day in my hands! I've been buying it here ever since. Ok so here's the skinny on some of the complaints I'm seeing here:The Basics:1. It's a direct dye, that means you slap it right on or for those of you who wanna mix it with conditioner, no developer needed.2. You won't need the whole tube unless you got a few heads of hair, or a long haired rendition of the blue man group.3. Remember to wash all your stuff off with soap and hot water and have a designated dye towel so you can store it and reapply in a couple months.4. Again, it's a direct dye, it will turn everything it touches into it's color, best to tie the hair up and slap a processing cap (shower cap) on it so you don't accidental like bump something.Prepare:1. Use gloves, with it being direct dye, it will turn everything X color2. For those of you rinsing it out while taking a shower, why? Bend ya head over and rinse it out without splashing it all over your body, it's direct dye, it's going to stain everything it touches on the way down the drain, then probably stain the drain too and all your plumbing. Spray some bleach containing bathroom cleaner in your shower to clean it.3. Oh my! you dropped a bit on the floor and it stained! that's ok, spray it with the bleach bathroom cleaner and wipe it away after a few seconds.4. Because #3 can happen, you might want to make your bathroom look like an American Psycho type scene with some plastic drop cloths or something to protect what you don't want dyed.5. Splatter happens.6. Remember to use color safe shampoo to help it take and last longer.7. Don't use scalding hot water. There's a reason the salons use cold or slightly warm water to rinse this stuff out. Hot water will pull more color out because... science.8. Yes, it may stain a pillow case or 3 after you first apply it, it depends on how well you rinsed it the first time. Make sure you rinse your scalp really good.9. It stained your towels? Why did you use light colored towels? It's direct dye, better dye those towels this color too now.10. If you get it on your skin and nothing works to take it off, maybe try some of that cleaner or Lysol or baby wipes, those things clean EVERYTHING!When it's all said and done, kick back relax and enjoy your beautiful color, apply light coats when necessary and remember to get that scalp good in the rinse.Happy coloring!

Long-lasting, low-maintenance, beautiful hair color!!
I've been dyeing my hair for several years now, and the brand I used to use all the time got discontinued, so I've spent the past year trying out different ones to see if I could find a new brand to fall in love with. I'm happy to say I only needed to try 2 other brands before stumbling across Pravana Chromasilk Vivids, and I am head over heels!!! The colors are intense, they last forever, and I actually didn't have that much of an issue with bathroom stains (scrubbing bubbles took it right off of my shower workout needed to scrub!). I ended up buying 7 different colors to play around with, and they blend nicely when you mix them on the hair. The first two pictures I posted are right after dyeing (first is with dark blue, purple, and red; second is with wild orchid, electric blue, and green). The third picture is the blue/purple/red combo after 2 months, washing every other day!! I don't think I've ever had a dye job last THIS long! I love having my hair colored, but not needing to re-dye very often is a HUGE perk!Pros:- Easy to apply - I keep my dyes in glass jars (last picture) and use a small paint brush to apply it to my hair. You can use the dyes straight for more intense colors, or you can mix it with conditioner.- Doesn't damage your hair - sometimes I mix it with conditioner, but most of the time I use just the straight dye, and my hair is always pretty soft afterwards. I do deep condition my hair once a week as well to help keep it soft, too.- Long lasting - I just re-dyed my hair last night, only because I wanted slightly different colors, but there was still a lot of color left from last time. It's been over 3 months (early September until late December)!! That's with washing every other day with HOT water (I hate cold showers). Most dyes I've tried in the past either faded in a few weeks to maybe 2 months max, so I am VERY impressed with its longevity.- Low maintenance - I don't like washing my hair in cold water because it can give me headaches, and most dyes I've used don't last very long if you don't do that. I'm able to wash my hair in hot water without needing to use color-protection shampoo or conditioner, and it STILL lasted over 3 months!- Lots of colors - There are so many to choose from! And you can mix them to make your own colors, too! So far, I have yellow, green, dark blue, electric blue, purple, red, and wild orchid. I might buy an orange one eventually too.- Pleasant smell - It doesn't smell like chemicals or anything, it reminds me of a salon conditioner.Cons:- Bleeds a little - The first week after a dye is usually the worst for color bleed for me, but I haven't had it get on bedding or clothes. It's mostly just on my skin where my hair lays while I'm sleeping. My shower does look like a murdered a smurf sometimes, but Scrubbing Bubbles shower spray cleaner took it right off without the need to actually scrub it away. And my shower curtain and towels came out clean in the wash (I just use tide pods). Oxyclean also works really well.Overall, highly recommend!!!!
