Hémisphère Fountain Pen | Stainless Steel with Chrome Trim | Fine Nib | Blue Ink | Gift Box

I ordered this pen to replace a Cross fountain pen which was annoying me (it was scratchy, and if I didn't use it for a couple of days the ink dried up in the feed and it had to be washed to get it flowing again). I had only tried one Waterman pen before, and not liked it much as it was a very wide barrel and made my hand tired, but having seen a couple of clips on YouTube and read some reviews on pen sites, I thought I'd give this one a go. I'm so glad I did! It writes really smoothly, which is a bonus as being left-handed I find that pushing pens across the page often means they scratch or snag on the paper. I chose a fine nib as my writing is quite small and I hate the "filling in" of the letters, and this also can mean a pen is scratchier. Full marks for smoothness, then. I have also just had a quick scribble after not using the pen for almost a week. The ink still flows. Marvellous! So, it works. Beautifully. And it looks beautiful too. The barrel is slim enough to hold comfortably, especially for a woman, and it is well balanced in the hand. The matt black with gold trim is very smart and doesn't show finger marks like the shiny ones do. All in all, a superb pen, and fast delivery too. All the way from France in a week. Can't complain at that!

Beautiful pen at good value.

The beginning of this review was when I first boughtthe pen Amazing pen! Incredibly smooth to write with and very slick looking. Takes normal universal ink cartridges. The box may be the best thing about it it may be the nicest boxes I have ever seen a product in it is incredibly soft. All round a stunning pen and would recommend for anyone. So it has been four years close to 5 since I received the pen and it’s still working like a dream. And it has not had a easy ride. I bought it at the start of my GCSE course and it was the only pen I used for the whole thing including all my exams. I am now in the final few weeks of my A-levels and it continues to be the only pen I use. It has been a powerhouse and I recommend it to anyone. The only l issue I have had is the gold is coming off but this has only become noticeable in the last 3 weeks so it has lasted a solid 4 years of intense writing. My handwriting also has improved considerably which I put down to the pen.

This pen is very nice. It is smooth, comfortable, reliable. It looks nice. It is just the right thickness for me as I like thin pens. The fine nib is I'd say a F/EF, closer to a Japanese fine nib than a European fine, and writes very smoothly. It is what people refer to as a 'wet writer' but not so much so as to dump ink at every stroke, still it's a bit too wet for photocopy paper and will bleed and feather with most inks. The barrel and cap are nicely painted metal in a neat matte black, but the section is molded plastic - complete with mold lines. It is slick looks tacky and feels cheap. In ever other regard this pen tops comparable Parker, Lamy, and Fabre-castel pens I own, but the section just lets it down. It is disappointing, however the pen still performs well for short term writing and is enjoyable to use. For long letters, or essay writing the slick section may cause slipping.

Love it, use this as my main fountain pen, totally flawless.

Bought as a gift for my husband as a first fountain pen .. he loves it, writes really smoothly and is now using instead of ballpoint.

Great pen - a gift for my mother - she loves it

The works really well, writes beautifully and takes standard ink cartridges. I found the medium nib is quite thick. If you are looking for a nib that writes with a similar thickness to a biro for example - you want waterman's extra fine nib. Update 1 year later: this pen is still working beautifully and still looks as good. I chuck it in my bag, have dropped it a few times, and has had daily use. This pen has a nice click sound when the lid is put on and is just as satisfying now. I found that this pen did not like Waterman's own ink range (it skipped). Since switching to Diamine ink it is absolutely perfect.

This is a marvelous fountain pen in fine nib. The flow of ink is steady and smooth and it just glides effortlessly on paper. The look and design is aesthetically pleasing to look at also. I can't fault at all because there's nothing bad to say except everything is good! It comes with a case and the interior is soft felt fabulous for storing the pen. Wonderful writing experience.

Wer keinesfalls auffallen will und dennoch eine tadellose, über jeden Zweifel erhabene. Schreibqualität erwartet, ist mit dem Waterman Hemisphere bestens bedient. Kein Einschreiben notwendig. Sofort stabiles Schriftbild und kontinuierlicher Tintenfluss auf jedem Papier. Na gut, das darf man für den Preis auch erwarten. Absolutes Understatement jedenfalls. Mehr braucht es nicht. Schickere Tintenfarben eventuell.
