I Wasnโt Taught This, So Iโm Making Sure My Kids Are
I bought this for both of my teenagers, but especially my son. Heโll eventually inherit a modest trust from injuries he survived during the Tubbs Fire, and that reality has made financial literacy feel a lot more immediate in our house. What I needed was something that didnโt overcomplicate things or talk down to him. This does a good job of walking through the basics in plain language. The explanation of gross versus net pay is a good example. Itโs simple, but itโs the kind of thing people nod along to without really understanding until it shows up on their own paycheck. The tone feels right for teens. Not childish, not overly polished. Just clear enough that they can follow it without checking out halfway through. Itโs not trying to do everything. It gives them a place to start, which is honestly the part most of us never got. Iโd rather he learn this now, while the stakes are still low, than later when the decisions carry more weight. Money is one of those things people assume youโll figure out, until you donโt. This helped me feel like Iโm at least pointing both of my kids in the right direction.

Wish I'd had this when I was young
I didn't have anyone showing or teaching me anything about anything when I was a kid. This book would have been so helpful, I really wish I'd had access to it many years ago. As it is, this is a very appropriate book for my grandkids and I hope will help them avoid a few pitfalls as they develop their money attitude.

Great life skills for anyone
This comprehensive guide with a workbook built inside, is about money skills that every teen needs to push them forward into life. Each section within the chapters is easy to read and understand with ease as well written so any young person can learn to apply to their life as they reach adulthood. The author goes into life skills with money from opening up an bank account to paying your bills, skills that schools donโt really teach our teens. I wish I had a book like this when I was a teen, it may have helped me to become a better young adult. I recommend this book to anyone who will need those life skills to provide what they need for the future.
