Good value for the price and gifting as a present

It's a good shaver Battery life is very reasonable gives you about 3 or 4 beard trims What let's down and probably make me buy a different one next time is the fact it has no charging LED. You can't tell when it's changing or fully charged it's a real pain. I'm not sure if the brand has one with a built in LED if they do I would recommend buying that one. There are plenty of heads and length blades and they all work well no problems on my hair which is fairly course. The travel bag is handy for all the small pieces. The heads can be fiddly to put on but follow the instructions and it becomes a breeze.

I’ve used Wahl hair clippers for my beard for best part of 20 years and decided the time had come to get dedicated beard trimmers so naturally plumbed for Wahl again as their hair clippers are second to none and pretty much every professional salon the world over use them. It was a mistake. First off the blades are poor quality and thin. The steel simply doesn’t hold an edge correctly for very long. I used the same Wahl hair clipper blades for best part of 10 years before they needed changing. The beard trimmer blade has lasted all of 3 months and it’s absolutely done. Moreover, as it’s not designed to be taken apart it can’t be re sharpened so the only choice is to replace it - unlike the hair clippers. Second issue is that it operates at a much lower frequency and has much less power behind it than the hair clippers. This probably has a lot to do with the blades dulling so fast as they’re more flimsy and hitting the hair at a much lower speed. Now, I realise these two problems are probably endemic across all brands’ beard trimmers due to their size and being battery driven. However, as Wahl hair clippers are of such high quality I’d hoped for a lot lot more from their beard trimmer. I’d have no hesitation in recommending their hair clippers even for beards as they never catch, stay sharp for years and are excellent value. My first pair of hair clippers lasted over 10 years of being used to trim head and beard every week before the transformer started getting a bit tired. Exactly the opposite of their beard trimmer.

Just over a years usage and it doesnt hold any charge, it was kept clean and used on a bi-daily basis. It was good whilst it lasted and done what I needed it for but just disappointed that the battery only lasted a year before it stopped holding a charge.

Heads are clumsy and fiddly to change, this needs totally redesigning its a major flaw of the product rendering it very disappointing for this reason. The power of the cutter is also weaker than expected. It also struggles on face and hair. Its a very well priced item, so it wont be perfect, but it seems weak and the interchanging of the heads is very very poorly designed and a cheaply made feature. This needs attention and redesigning immediately. On a plus it comes with a wash bag to store the items and an easy plug in 3 pin charger unlike many high priced 2 pin items with difficult charging docking systems, this ine is simple. It also has everything you need for a full head face and body groom. For a quick attempt at a fly over its passable as useful. But a daily use for a thick well grown beard or head of hair it underperforms. Unfortunate as its a good sized well adapted and easy to charge item. Just a shame the head change-over is poor and its not as powerful as it could be.
