A dark, billionaire, secret society, fairytale retelling by bestselling romance author Greer Rivers The Garde values four ideals: The Truth we twist. The Beauty we flaunt. The Freedom we grant. The Power we take. I believed their lies until Lacey O'Shea. She’s the only daughter of the Garde's leading family, and she was meant to be mine. But her father stole her from me to sell to another. So I stole her back. But there's more to the conspiracy that kept us apart, and we have to keep our relationship secret from her former fiancé, the Baron, to find the truth. He wants to lock her away, but she’s a bird desperate to flee her gilded cage. I'll fight the Baron, the Garde, and the whole damn world to free her. ROUGE is a spicy story set in modern-day Las Vegas and a complete STANDALONE in the Tattered Curtain series. Guaranteed HEA. Author’s Note: The Tattered Curtain series transforms classic tragic plays, such as Romeo & Juliet, La Dame aux Camélias, and Orpheus and Eurydice , into dark and twisty HEAs. All CWs/TWs can be found in the front of the book, the author’s website, or on Goodreads. Mature readers only. Review: I wish I could relive this for the first time again! UGH. - "You could've had sweet, wife, but you chose rough when you didn't choose me." 5/5 ⭐️ 5/5 🌶️ The second I saw there was a modern retelling of the movie Moulin Rouge set in Vegas, I knew I had to throw everything I was doing to the side to read it. Moulin Rouge is what made me fall in love with love. I was in second grade and my aunt was watching it while I hid behind the couch to watch it. Unfortunately for me, it turned me into a hopeless romantic. Rouge captivated me from the start and exceeded my expectations. My love for Lacey runs deep. She's stunning, smart and fierce as hell. She knew how to play the game and play it well. She was raised to be a prize to a man and to feel inferior and feeble. She wasn't meant to have thoughts or feelings, just play nice and be the perfect socialite. She had so much fire and spirit, there was no crushing that. Even in her weakest moments, she held on. Kian is a tattooed, pierced (yes, it's exactly where you think it is) assassin that's broody and morally grey while also having a beautiful heart. He is meant to destroy Lacey, but instantly feels the spark with her and changes his plans. He was still going to get his revenge, but in a much better way. Hell, he could a$$assinate me and I would thank him before he did it. I'd take any kind of attention I could get from him. Ohohoh and the tattoo he gets? Let's just say if a man doesn't get that done for me, I don't want him. Lacey and Kian had palpable chemistry. There was so much depth to both characters and I couldn't get enough. The passion was there from the beginning, even if she didn't want to acknowledge it. Did I cry during some parts? Abso-freaking-lutely. You're kept on the edge of your seat throughout the entirety of Rouge and I loved every second. Although there wasn't a whole lot of spice, when there was, I was having to clench my thighs. Even the scene before going backstage had me sweating, and they weren't doing anything! I would have unalived for more spicey scenes, but the plot was so perfect that I'm not even sad about it. Review: Kian & Lacey - MF, no cheating/no sharing, steamy, HEA I did enjoy this story. I found some parts I had to push through in the beginning, but after a while it picked up and I couldn't put it down!

Absolutely loved
This is a dark billionaire romance with a secret society twist and a happy ever after. Lacey is the only daughter of the Garde’s leading family, and she was promised to Kian, until her dad recounted on the deal. The Garde rules Las Vegas and controls each member family’s money until a certain age. Kian has worked outside the Garde to surmise its fortune, and now he’s come for what he’s due, Lacey. As Kian digs into the story of why Lacey was taken from him, the more unsavory things he learns. Seems like a fight is brewing on the horizon, and Kian is going to take what he needs to get what he wants. I really enjoyed Phantom, but I absolutely loved Rogue. This book was exactly what I needed at this point in time. This one was darker, and smuttier than Phantom and it was amazing. I enjoyed how it didn’t take long for the spicy scenes to begin, and while there weren’t a ton, the ones that were present were top-notch. I want to say it was right around the 25% mark or so, and it was perfect. This book was fairly long at about 466 pages, but it was such a bingeable read; I didn’t put it down. This one is not necessarily a retelling, but it is loosely based on Moulin Rouge. In this case I don’t think you need to be familiar with Moulin Rouge to get this book, it’s been a long while since I’ve seen it and did just fine. The chemistry between the characters was present from the beginning and only intensified as the book went on.

Great Start..
I really enjoyed the book in the beginning, mainly because I liked the world building and the plot. But towards the middle I got quickly tired of the same old things: the “but my dad” and the rampant misogyny got old very quickly. I understand wanting to free your father, but a lot of what the MC did to “free him” was not smart. It was so obvious that her evil fiancé was the perpetrator behind her dad’s imprisonment, I don’t quite understand why her dad didn’t realize that himself, especially as the leader. She was so pitifully loyal to the point it got annoying. The whole misogyny aspect got overplayed— yes obviously misogyny is going to present but it was to the extent that it got excessive. Just something for the author to write about instead of being important to the plot. Felt very fairytaley at the end of it. I appreciate the effort that went into making the whole Las Vegas secret society seem realistic. The romance part was lacking for me though— just s scenes and they never once went on a date together. Not sure how they ended up falling for each other. More like obsession on his end for her being the reason he quit drinking and her getting with the only guy that isn’t a pos rather then genuine love. The plot overtook the romance for sure. Also sidenote, why did he allow her to stay with that guy for so long? Not typical in these types of books, usually they are more protective. It was decent enough to finish though. More character depth for the MC besides being a dancer and pawn would have bumped it up to a 4 for me. And more actual romance.

I would read a million more books with these two as the MCs. Such a great read!
Absolutely loved everything about this one!!! It may be a tie between Unveil and Rouge for my Greer Rivers favorites! Lacey was so feisty, and I loved how she tried to fight the stigma of the Guard women in any way that she knew how. Especially her own internal battle. Kian. Kian, Kian, Kian. Absolutely love him. He will be at the top of your morally grey book boyfriend list! He feels things deeply and is open about it and.....just WHEW. The villain in Rouge is absolutely perfect. He is who I want to hate. Like, I couldn't wait for him to do the next awful thing so that I could despise him more. I would read a million more books with these two as the MCs. Such a great read! overall: highly recommend spice: open door

SO. GOOD.
4.5- This book was so f’ing good. knew wanted to read this one because I loved book one of this series, Phantom has been one of my top reads this year, so I had huge expectations for rouge. This book has everything I look for when I'm looking for a dark romance. It has drama, amazing plot, characters that are dark and disturbed while still being understandable, aaaaaand spice. It has slight miscommunication trope at the end, but honestly, it was done so well and angsty, I didn't even mind it. Lacey O'Shea grew up in the garde where women are meant to sit and look pretty, not make choices. In trying to save her father from prison, she agree to marry the cruel Barron. When a family enemy steals her away and takes her for his own she starts to wonder if life with him really is the gilded cage she thought it would be, or is it really everything she could have dreamed for? I enjoyed reading this so much, it was so easy to pick this up and escape into the story and world built. If you enjoyed Phantom by Greer, I highly recommend continuing the series for more!

Book Review
💋💄 Rouge by Greer Rivers — 4 Sizzling Stars 💄💋 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “The Garde values four ideals: The Truth we twist. The Beauty we flaunt. The Freedom we grant. The Power we take.” And baby, this book takes you for a ride. Lacey O’Shea was promised to a Baron (ugh), but our masked Devil said…Nope, she’s mine—and straight-up stole her back. 👹 Set in the sultry chaos of Las Vegas, Rouge is packed with forbidden chemistry, secret society drama, and power plays that would make even Gossip Girl blush. Lacey’s ready to break free from her gilded cage, and Kain is ready to burn down the whole damn world for her. This book is dark, dirty, and delicious. A modern, twisty Romeo & Juliet with a whole lot more bite—and a HEA that had me grinning like a villain. 🔥 Tropes to devour: 💰 Dark billionaire 🗝 Secret society drama 💥 Forbidden lovers 🖤 Possessive hero, unbothered queen 🧨 “Mine” energy on full blast

ABSOLUTELY LOVED!!
I will be over her swooning because once again, Greer knocked it out of the park. This book was such an amazing read. I fell in love with the characters and the plot. Greer really did an amazing job with the characters and the development of the plot. I love how she interwove references from Moulin Rouge while still delivering an amazing plot and having the book really stand out. And I don’t care what anyone says. I claim Kian for myself!
