Easy to setup
Just set this up yesterday and today. Did 2 cameras yesterday, 2 today. So far so good. Good level of detail, can read plates all the way to end of driveway in day. Night IR mode is great, but black and white and license plates tend to be blown out, but perhaps recoverable from the image. Install was easy, and was truly plug and play for the physical install. Getting it connected to wifi/internet was easy and the app installs were straightforward. The NVR software is also easy to use. Was able to try out the repeater function when looking at camera bitrates. Getting full strength from all 4 sides of the house. One camera is through 3 walls. Only shortfall was that the power wires for the cameras are a but too short. They should have made these 8 ft. Ran a power strip as an extension for the 2 cameras mounted to the garage and the internal ones will have to be extended about 3-5 feet each. If that wasn't the case, would have been truly plug and play.Other steps were driving holes in the side of the house and mounting the cameras.Got a 16" long 1" diameter spade bit for 11 bucks, along with some silicone sealant in a tube and expanding spray foam.1 Turned the power off for the whole house (main breaker, did this at noon when it was nice and bright today)2 Drilled the holes (through siding/housewrap/osb/insulation/drywall and slightly upward from the outside in. One hole was drilled from the inside out. (inside of the house, drywall first)3 Pulled the cable through with a 2 foot long piece of 3/4" trim by wrapping it and the fat ethernet jack in line with electric tape.Mounted camera with 3 wood screws. (threw out the drywall/concrete screws as they stripped easy with my impact driver)4 After installing all the cameras (for the day), I powered the house back up via main beaker5. Turned on system and the cameras were found6. Played with positions of cameras and software until I was happyThe image on the computer in the picture is a doorbell cam. Highly recommend one.Update:Reached out to support for the newest firmware and they asked what I thought of the product. I thought that was great. Told them about the cable length, and they helped me rectify this. Changed to 5 stars.

Two cameras failed in less than a year
I bought this system just under a year ago and two of the cameras (or the NVR) stopped working. I've been messing around with different antenna configurations for a while now and it finally dawned on me to test one of the cameras. I took it off its mount and brought it inside next to the NVR and nothing. I'm assuming that two of the cameras went bad. I still see the IR lights but no picture. Two stars because two of the cameras still work...it's probably just a matter of time until they quit too.Update: after writing the 2 star review the seller contacted me via email offering technical support and suggested the cameras may have lost the signal which is in fact what had happened. I'm on 5 acres with a rather sprawling house with a lot of walls and trees. The cameras that lost signal were the ones with the most walls/obstacles/distance. Maybe up to five walls and many trees. This system actually works pretty good and is easy to set up if your property is smaller than mine with fewer obstacles. I found a Smonet wifi camera repeater that solved my problem. The rub is that I replaced the Camview 4 camera system with a Smonet 8 camera system. I suspect the Smonet repeater would work with the Camview system because they are very similar.

Easy installation, nice product and good support!
The CamView system was quick and easy to set up. However the motion detection on the cameras took quite a bit of fine tuning and honestly might take a couple days of use to get it where you want it. The CamView app is very basic and no-frills. You will receive push notifications from motion detection, but that’s about it. I guess it’s nice so that you can have a timeframe for reference on the HDD, but it would be ideal that when you received the notification that you could open the notification and it took you directly to that camera to see what is being detected. The cameras are very clear both day and night.I had been using this system for about 2.5 months when the hard drive went bad. I started hearing a clicking noise and noticed it wasn’t recording anymore. The camera system was still operational but not recording. I was worried about the customer service and if it would be a hassle to get the HDD replaced however that is why I am writing this review. The folks at C&S CAM did not hesitate to make it right. They quickly replaced my HDD and all has been well. Note, that it does appear that the product support is located in China. I am not sure how the phone support would be, but via email it was very quick and easy. Overall for the price and support I received I would recommend this product.
