I bout this to fix the leak on the top of my trans. I've got a 1992 jeep wrangler YJ 2.5l 4cly 5 speed manual. It fit like oem and my leak is fixed. I wasn't able to use the little plastic piece on the bottom of my shifter. It was the wrong size. But mine wasn't worn so I reused it. The shifter is much tighter now alot less wiggle. You need to remove the shifter linkage and stretch the new seal over the top. I was worried it might rip but it went on OK. Just use a little grease.

Material seems good quality - rubber boot feels like decent flexible rubber not hard cheap plastic-y trash. The blue gasket / seal type also seems quality. I installed the blue lower bushing / seal piece dry and then put the stick in liberally coated with silicone grease. Put a little on the end of the shifter stub and worked the boot down until it seated. Squeezed the rest of the small tube of silicone grease in and worked it around. Expect smooth shifting - no road time yet - based on the apparent quality of the materials.

Installed on a 01 wrangler SE with the ax5. Fit perfectly. They do not list the ax5 on the application list but it fits.

If you own a Jeep with the legendary AX15 5-speed, this is one of those “must-have” upgrades/parts you don’t realize you need until you install it. Ok check it! AX15 5-speeds in Jeep XJ, YJ, and TJ are pretty tought… but most of them are now 25–35 years old. That means bushings are tired, seals are crusty, and little parts inside the shifter start feeling like you’re stirring a pot of soup instead of shifting gears. After installing this part, the difference is night and day. The shifter feels tight, precise, and way more solid, like the Jeep just knocked 20 years off its age. No more vague gear hunting or floppy shifter play. Installation was straightforward, perfect for a DIY garage project

Great fit for both seals. Plastic bushing doesn’t snap on like the oem.

This was an incredibly easy fix for our vehicle. We had been having trouble shifting gears in a manual jeep. Accessing the area this goes into was not difficult and the replacement process itself wasn't to hard. The quality of the product was great and the vehicle is able to be shifted without effor for a smooth ride. Great value for our money versus other potential fixes. Would highly recommend.

If you have an AX-15 trans in your Jeep Wrangler YJ this will somewhat improve/smooth out sloppy gear selection. What it won't do is compensate for wear in the lower steel ball/selector shifter assembly. On my AX-15 the steel shifter assembly was also very worn so I replaced that at the same along with this product. I now have crisp, precise gear change selector.

Upper seal seems slightly smaller then original but does seem to fit . Lower combo seal fits great under the stub shaft , did not use the hard plastic insert mine was fine . Price is excellent . Quite satisfied
