Useful, but I don't think it was fully reviewed from the last edition
The book was useful for broad trip planning, but when you got down to the finer details there were some parts where it looked like it had just been copied and pasted from previous editions / pre covid. This was especially evident in Kusadasi, where restaurants that came recommended had terrible reviews, and they missed an absolute gem called Bottarga.

Another detailed guide book
The book arrived very promptly and helped me to research the areas I wish to visit when on my next holiday.

Uneducated.
I normally like these guides, but this one lacks research. When you write a part on the history of a country it would be nice to research that history. At least make sure it is correct. The authors didn't for sure. Ref page 638. The invasion of Cyprus? If you only had searched online , you would have found the released British Governments documents on those events. This makes me wonder how believable / factual the rest of this book is?

Very ordinary - not what I expected from The Rough Guide
This was a very ordinary guide book - not what I had expected from The Rough Guide I always liked the Rough Guide's style - informative, interesting and practical This book - while providing very good practical information - dwelt way too much on the historical side of Turkey Sure Turkey was a pivotal country in historical terms (and I like a limited amount of history) but it is also a living and breathing country, with friendly and helpful people and some busy interesting towns and some great scenery The latter was almost missing from the book - the main travel locations should not be shaped by their historical relevance but how they should appeal to the discerning traveller ( a couple of historical locations are ok) Similarly some fantastic countryside areas that we travelled though (by bus) wasn't even mentioned Shame Mr T Rough Guide - get back to basics please - leave the history books to the historians and start getting relevant again - at least on Turkey Brian

Guide conforme
