This razor is excellent. It is very mild yet extremely efficient. I'm not exactly sure how they pulled it off. It is machined with great precision. Solid stainless construction is great. And when paired with a very sharp blade (think Feather, Kai, Med Prep, etc), it can get through coarse facial hair, leave you BBS, with no irritation. I was skeptical of the price tag, but it was easily the best shave I've had with a Feather blade. Highly recommend.Just a few notes: stainless razors can leach carbon from the blades when the blade is wet which can cause discoloration. It isn't rust, but it isn't the best looking effect. Open up the razor and let the blade breath to prevent this.Also, the alignment of the blade to head can be finicky compared to some other precision razors due to the design. This is the only con to this razor; but is just a minor inconvenience , as when letting your razor breath when drying can cause misalignment of the blade when tightening everything back up.

It works crazy well with the super sharp blades like Feathers and Blues but also delivers an accurate smooth shave with the every day blades lile Astras etc. Mine came with a Feather. The accuracy in which it automatically symmetrically holds the blade is impressive. Youve got to watch that video to see what I mean. And that grip!! Never slips, and forces an optimal angle. Just wow.

I have collected a few DE razors, Muhle classic, Father ADS2, Timeless Razor Model TRBR38. I thought that smooth and efficient are against each other. This Tatara really taught me how a razor design can be effective and smooth at same time. When I use the Muhle classic, I need to be vey careful and I can still cut myself. When I use the Tatara, I use it like I use a gillette fusion.The manufacture tolerance of this Tatara is no others can compare. The Muhle classic has uneven blade gap. At least two brands blades can not sit in the Timeless because the pin is too large. Feather is good but manufactured in sintered stainless steel powder not really a solid metal through CNC process.I really disappointed to see not many US users are talking about this Tatara razor. This is absolutely a winner among all the popular brands.
