Phenomenal true story of courage and faith
Tara Coyote recounts her experiences with deep loss, cancer, business, family, and how she braved through everything that came her way. Life is challenging and Tara is a testament to how her determination and truth amidst the pain of her experiences with stage 4 cancer allowed her to come through stronger with her horses and support system. She embodies all of life’s gifts and is a true inspiration.

An important journey
French author Andre Gide once said that one cannot reach new horizons without letting go of the shoreline. That is what Tara Coyote did: she let go and let the waves carry her to a new place of being. As a Pisces born woman, this may seem natural but it takes true grit and guts. When one starts reading a book and can't put it down, it is a great book. I read this book in one go, it is easy to read and well done. The author has used her experiences to show a new path of healing which includes both: the material and the spiritual, the ancient and the modern ways.Having triumphed and taken on an illness with faith and, most of all, courage, is a feat that deserves to be known so that others may feel comfort and increased hope that there is something we can't quite describe. We need to know there is an energy connecting us and supporting us if we are open to it.As an empath, the author has shown great fortitude. As a beautiful woman, she has shed the ways she was looked at and looked at herself, finding in the deep well of knowledge a force to be reckoned with. This is the birth of a true heroine and that is why it is an important book to read: facing the ultimate, facing death, can set us free and help us survive in a new, wondrous shape, the shape of a survivor and a goddess. Just as the planet Venus changes from morning star to evening star but remains Venus, we live lives of change but remain true to ourselves. I am looking forward to reading more from this new and inspiring author.

A must listen to audio book for anyone who needs inspiration and hope!
Tara's audiobook is amazing, a must-listen-to audiobook. She inspires her listeners with her vulnerability, courage, and grace in sharing her cancer journey. I highly recommend Tara's audiobook as well as her Kindle version or physical copy. I've been recommending it to friends/family who are on their cancer journey to give them grace, grit, and gratitude.

A deeply moving book about life, horses and cancer
To book starts out with a collection of seemingly unrelated chapters and then moves on to sharing blog posts and writings about a natural, non-toxic approach to healing cancer; In the second part of the book, Tara is sharing details from the cancer journey, protocols, insightful blog posts looking at it from every possible angle, including Gerson diet, Bee venom, Dr. V, Kambo frog poison,A highlight is the beautiful diary of a roadtrip to New Zealand to present her work with horses while keeping up the natural healing regimen; The courage it must have taken to revisit so many chapters of her life, to collect blog and instagram posts and kneed it all into one story, builds up throughout the book. We witness Tara grow, change her mind, confront her deamons, and come to peace, to eventually re-birth in the end. It is a brave and at times heart-breaking pamphlet to what a human being can endureThroughout the book, Tara describes honestly and even cheerfully how one mountain rock of hurdles after another is put in her way and how she deals with it.This book is an inspiration for those who can hear the harsh and often ugly truth of life. It might also trigger those who struggle to face the fact that “life is a terminal condition” as Tara gracefully says, during the darkest part of her journey. After all, death and hurdle are an integral and omnipresent part of our lives.I was deeply moved by Tara's inspiring story and ended up feeling as if we were life-long friends. I learned so much about cancer and even more about courage and life itself.

All my senses were awakened and I felt so very alive. I highly recommend you take a moment in time and allow the love and gentle heart from reading this awesome book to let it wash over you. Tara’s life story of how she kept showing up with her inner strength as life's challenges arrived is totally amazing. It was as if she was riding the waves of living and learning life in real-time with a open loving heart. This served her very well indeed. As I read this book I became stronger and my heart was opened. Tara the author has have been through so very much in such a short time. The last few years have given her a lifetime of salvation and life lessons. As I have greatly benefited from reading her book, I know many others will also be touched by her lovely invincible spirit.I believe this book is for everyone women, men, the young, and old. All can benefit in finding their way to love. Even in the face of Cancer there can be a point of transformation. Tara’s experience with being with horses in a healing capacity brought tears of joy. This is the kind of book that keeps giving long after the experience of reading it is over. I highly recommend this book.

One thing I really enjoyed was the interplay between the text and the blogs. I didn’t want to put the book down, until I knew how you thrived through cancer. This is one of my criteria for a great read. Thank you for making the time and effort to document your sacred journey.

Inspiring and authentic, an amazing journey - the title is truly apt!
The title of this book is truly apt. The author’s search for absolute authenticity and finding gratitude amongst the pain as she reaches into her deepest strength is incredible. Her will to live is enormous; but not just to live, to fully appreciate her life and who she is; to find her light. The comparisons she makes of her journey with cancer to the Goddess Inanna’s descent into the underworld and everything she has to give up, everything that gets stripped away adds another layer. I love the author’s poems that she’s included in the book. Reading this journey makes you appreciate the important things in your life. If you have been diagnosed with cancer, it also includes the natural healing methods the author tried and how she used both natural and Western medicine. As the author says: ‘Cherish your health and fully embody your life’ and ‘Never underestimate the gifts that are birthed from tragedy'.

Gripping and insightful
Tara's writing style to tell her story, kept me gripped and wanting to know more. I learnt so much from her attitude to adversity and as a result have taken away questions and things to consider for my own choices towards my health and how I respond to difficult situations. Thank you for sharing your story to inspire others.

A most powerful book
Tara Coyote has written one of the most powerful books I have read in the last few years! It’s the story of Tara who brings us along in her amazing life’s journey and illuminates us with her vulnerability, courage and positive thinking.I could not stop reading and I finished it in just 3 days. I will read it again soon, more slowly, in order to benefit more deeply from her positivity and life lessons. Most recommended.
