Nice, Small fan, but only slightly effective
I live in a small apartment, that doesn't really have room for a proper AC unit, at least in a personal bedroom. So I wanted something that would work well in just my tiny room. Ultimately, it doesn't nothing to the room as a whole, even with a door closed and window closed (My room I think is like.....11 ft by 10 ft maybe?) it ultimately doesn't do anything. And maybe it's cause I keep it on a lower setting. It's not super loud, but it's not silent either. And so I try to minimize the sound. That being said, I have it set up near my bed, and it feels soo good to have close by. I'm debating trying to set it up slightly higher to see if that helps it cover my whole bed so I don't have to sleep on one side to get it's effects.

Great little fan
The media could not be loaded. Great little unit for the office at my work, it doesn't cool an entire room or anything, but it does do its job in keeping me cool while I sit here at the desk. Adding water to it does make slightly cooler air coming out, however it makes the room very humid. So I don't use that feature. Also it only runs when plugged in...I was under the impression it would "charge" and then run for awhile not plugged in...so Mines either defective, or I was mistaken. But it only runs plugged in. Not too loud on lower setting, but on higher fan setting is pretty loud...esp when sitting right in front of it. Small price to pay though, my office runs currently around 82-85 degrees, it's HOT...so im just happy it works keeping me cool.

Not an evaporative cooler, it's a misting fan.
How much cooling you get depends on how much water is evaporated in a certain period of time. There are cheaper misting fans that will evaporate more water in the same period of time. This one sprayed out 113g (4 oz) of water in an hour. It's not great, but 4x more water than another similar fan I tested. It's certainly not an air conditioner! It's not really an evaporative cooler either, because it doesn't pump water over a filter or a matrix that lets it evaporate. It's just a fan that blows air out the front with or without mist being injected into that airstream. A true evaporative cooler will stop putting moisture in the air when the humidity gets to a certain point, misting fans will simply create a water puddle in front if the room gets too humid.

You'll get better results hanging a wet towel over a box fan
I ordered this AC fan for my elderly mother to use when her home air conditioner was not keeping up with the excessive summer heat. She's still a sharp cookie, so I asked her for a report. First, she was frustrated to find that it did not come with a power cord, and because she really didn't understand what kind of cord she needed, she spent the better part of a day trying to locate and purchase one. Any simple consumer product should arrive ready to use or should at least include clear labeling if additional parts are needed. Even toy commercials state "batteries not included."When she finally got the unit powered up, she said that she could feel some cool air if she sat right next to it but that it did not have enough power to cool the room at all. The water tank needed constant refilling too.She did better throwing a wet towel over her box fan for evaporative cooling. Smart lady!

Dead after 2 months
At first this fan was working great. I enjoyed the misting feature it had and it helped me stay cool at work on hot days. However, it stopped working yesterday and won't turn on again. I'm assuming the circuit board burnt out or something inside. I initially had high hopes for this fan, but it couldn't stand the heat and burnt out. Time to look for another fan.

Better than nothing , it do the job
Is its ur only option, its better than nothing,I use it in my semi truck, cause i cant sleep if my truck is running all night, it prevents my sleeping cab from becoming warm , but it does not make it cold, the cool air breeze coming out makes me go to sleep faster.Am satisfied with it Just wish if it had something to release the water from upper part

Nice little unit!
My A/C died during a heat wave in Vegas. I have a much bigger evaporative cooler for my bulldog.I ordered this simply because it would arrive first thing in the morning.People don't seem to understand this isn't an air conditioner. It's only going to work as well as the ice in its tank.Tip, don't fill it with water, then add ice. Fill it with ice then add a little water. I've had it going for 4 hours. It takes fresh ice about every half hour to keep my bedroom comfortable. It doesn't have the horse power of my bigger unit. But, it was only $40. The bigger unit was $199 two years ago.If you want to drop the temp of your room, you need a full size unit.
