I hope that you read Meuws,Magic and Manslaughter, because this is the rest of it. Aunt Maxine is missing. Maxine's co-witches, Wanda and Hazel, assume that she went ahead of them to the witches convention with out them. Now the convention is in Witchataw, not the one here in the U.S.A its in America, but you will find out. Now Petunia, Noah, who is at ease with the fact that Petunia is a witch, Hazel, Wanda and even Panzy go to the convention to find her. They find her at the convention, but she is accused of murdering the Grand Witch. I hope you remember what Estell and Maria, her daughter, did to Panzy and what Petunia did to them in retailiation. Why did Maxine go to the convention without her buddies and niece, did she kill the grand witch, even though there were 4 other grand witches who were killed before her. There is a lot going on at this convention and you are going to be amazed at all that will happen. You will do as I did to get to the truth.

I'm enjoying this series, keep them coming...Spoiler Alert
I wrote this review in the wee hours of the morning, did not mean to add spoilers. I am now editing to warn you.Another fantastic mystery with so many twists and turns that I had to slow down to get my bearing. The Grand Witch is dead, wait, the last three before her are also dead. Seems like a pattern or is it? Accidents, murder, natural causes, it's up to Petunia and Noah with a little help from Pansy to investigate and get the truth. So they can leave the witches island and get back to Lake Forest. Such fun, can't wait to read the next in the series.

Meows for sure!
This is the third book with petunia, her aunt Maxine and the potions that make and sell in the aunt's shop. Of course there is a murder that has to be solved in each book. Noah has just moved to town from New York where he was a cop. He is helping with the investigations. This book is where petunia embraces the fact that her family are witches and her potions are really magical. These are really well written and take place in my state of Michigan which is really cool. You do need to start with book one so you get all the characters. I definitely recommend them as the cozy read they are.

Good story
The author writes a good tale and then twists it just a bit. What Madison John's doesn't do, at least in the first three books of this series, is develop the characters to any sort of depth. In fact you just have to accept what they do because you don't understand them enough to predict them Have no real idea what Noah sees in Petunia. Pansy the cat, is more evolved than Noah. He is so petrified of spiders that he had to go back to the room to rest a little after encountering a tarantula, that was someone's familiar. She seems to be lacking in the ability to fully paint descriptive scenes and bring them to life. In general this seems to be about middle school level reading.

Enjoyed all 3 books
I liked the 3stories but found quite a bit of typos in the first 2 books. This tends to be a bit of a distraction when reading. Story line was fine but Petunia spent so much time denying her heritage and abilities that this distracted from the flow of the story. The author should have considered this when going over the 3 stories. All in all fairly good set of stories.

Awesome
I only gave it a four star because of the typos that was in there. You don't know how that really happened. It could be from spell check.I really enjoyed the book I couldn't put it down because I had to see what happens. Can't wait for the next book.. keep on writing Madison.. just get your spell checker fix.. :)

Witches covention
I love these lake forest witches books. This time Petunia another handsome neighbor Noah (who she dates when they are not working a case) go to a witches convention in Witchitaw (no mistake in the spelling). There they try to clear up who murdered the Grand Witch. The book is a fun read. The new one is out and I can't wait to read it.

Magic for the rest of us
I enjoy Ms Johns writing in general. This book was a bit uneven in flow and difficult to keep track of characters, but an easy feel good read when the good 'guys' win.

The ultimate power play
A good read, but i have read several other books with a similar plot before. A missing aunt, a witch convention, missing spell books, a dead body and power hungry witches. Who killed the head of the witches? Why have there been deaths before? When her aunt is suspected of murder, she and her PI step up to the plate to investigate. The ending seemed a bit weak but all in all a good read.
