Shank was too large
Sharnk for this was too large for my cordless drill, it would fit my larger electric drill, but not useful for the jobs required.

60mm step drill
I needed the step drill to enlarge 2x 37mm holes in steel bath to 45mm in-situ - restricted space. Worked a treat but burnt out my old Bosch drill in the process. Most drills are rated to 13mm in steel! Take it slow and easy or buy a very expensive drill. I resorted to using a SDS/13mm chuck converter in my DeWalt 2kg drill - just because I had it.

Large Step Drill Bit 6 - 60mm
This is a great step drill bit with 12 stages from 6 - 60mm, it seems well engineered from High speed steel and comes in a plastic box with an end cab over the tip of the drill bit to protect it.Most step drill bits don't go up this big so I was pleased to find one that did. We use it on steel and acrylic sheet and it performs well. The shank is 13mm dia / fits in a standard chuck. Not much else to say except I would buy another if I needed to.

Excelent cutting sheet metal
I bought this to enlarge a hole in car body work to allow me to fit tow bar electrics. I needed to take an existing 27mm hole up to 40 mmI wrapped insulating tape around the level that I needed to go to as you won't be able to read or count the levels when it is action.Using a hand held drill, the bit chewed in to and spat out, rather than cut the metal (0.5mm sheet) It did a very good job. However care needed to be taken not to put to much pressure on as this would cause it to bite too deep and stall. Also if your drill has a break on it (stops rotation when you lift off), the angular momentum that this heavy bit provides can over come it, that may not be good long term.
